Batman Still Rules
I finally went to see "The Dark Knight" this weekend. I was tempted to see "Step Brothers" instead, but I knew that if I didn't see that Batman shit, some people in my life would disown me forever.
It didn't make me pass a kidney stone or anything, but it was entertaining. However, the motherfucker in front of me wrapped his jacket around the entire back of his chair. His nasty ass jacket hood kept brushing against my knee. It took everything out of me not to pour my entire orange soda (yes, I'm trash) into his hood. I would have, but orange soda is too delicious to waste on a total dick bag.
I wasn't the only dumb bitch who went to TDK this weekend. The movie was #1 again at the box office bringing in $75.6 million. It also beat another record by making $314.2 million in just 10 days. This week, it will become the biggest movie of 2008. It's already #23 on the all-time domestic blockbuster list. It could very well take down "Star Wars Episode IV"as the second biggest movie ever domestically. "Titanic" is currently #1 with $600.788. All this money talk is making my checking account weep.
The weekend box office looked like this:
1. The Dark Knight - $75.6 million
2. Step Brothers - $30 million
3. Mamma Mia! - $17.8
4. The X-Files 2 - $10.2 million
5. Journey to the Center of the Earth - $9.4 million
This totally means there's going to be a third Batman. They better bring back Catwoman and Jocelyn Wildenstein better play her ass....OR ELSE!

X-Files sucked and was like the longest, most boring episode of the show ever. It didn't even show Scully and Mulder fucking. Yes, it may have implied it, but I needed more than that. Not like a closeup of his dick ramming her vag, just something a little more definite. Oh yeah, Mulder looks like a hobo now.
Stepbrothers was funny if you're a stoner and don't care about feeling like a retard. I found some of that shit to be really funny, though I was acutely aware that I shouldn't be laughing. The ending sucked though. Go see it drunk or stoned.
I drank Orange at both.
PS. Titanic only sold a bazillion tickets because that shit was in theaters for the better part of 1998. Seriously, that shit was in theaters for 4 months here. CHEATING!

Dude, I paid to see Batman and got into Stepbrothers for free. Stepbrothers sucked balls. Don't even waste your money. Think Anchorman- stupid humor only NOT funny.

And you see Will Ferrell's balls.. so maybe you DO want to see it. Who knows.
But I'd wait until it comes out on video to see that. Then you can fast forward.

Is this adjusted for inflation? Does it mean that more people went to see this than any other movie? For some reason, I have trouble believing that this did better than "E.T." or "Star Wars" or "Gone With The Wind". Back in those days, people went to movies more than they do now.
We were poor as fuck growing up and we still went to the movies. We don't go now because I think it's a waste of money I could be spending on fresh mozzarella or Haagen-Dazs.

I really can't say anything bad either, just not the best ever--I just say American Psycho for the first time the other day-Bale is lovely :) Maybe that's why I liked the first batman he did better-he was the focus.

Following and prestige are awesome.

I saw it at Imax last night. The movie as a whole was alright, but Heath was fucking phenomenal. He's the only reason why the movie wasn't deemed mediocre. Other than Heath, Oldman, and Freeman, I really didn't relate to any of the characters.
When I first saw the trailer I wanted to see it because of Heath, and that was way before he passed. Christian once again ruined the movie for me. Him and his fucking whispering whenever he put the suit on drove me fucking nuts. Seriously, Bruce Wayne's covered head to toe in black leather, does he really need to hide is voice too?
And OMG, Maggie G on the Imax screen. Bitch is tired. I almost prefer Katie Holme's empty stares over her dog face.

That's exactly what I hate about movie theaters! They put those damn chairs way to close together, so when the a$$hole in front you pushes their fat a$$ back to recline, you have nowhere to put your legs, you have to sit sideways. Unfortunatly the only movie theater here that has those really nice pilot seats is sort of old (2000) and doesn't have IMAX. I'd rather wait untill the DVD comes out or I can download the screener.
I loved The Dark Knight but I don´t think it´s the greatest movie ever made (it went straight to the top spot on IMDB.com top 250 movies, knocking out Godfather). But it´s very entertaining and Heath Ledger is absolutely INSANE as the Joker, hilarious and fucking scary at the same time.
And now I´m off to see it again...

By the way If you are an XFILES fan the movie was true to form and worth seeing. I also found step brothers hilarious. Got to be in a good mood for it.

I believe he is only referring to the current series with Bale as Batman. If you don't count the tv series with Adam West or animated movies, this is the 6th Batman movie.

Wow... I guess I will go out on a limb here and say that I loved it! I thought it was just an amazing piece of film and Heath Ledger just rocked it. He was spot on as the Joker.
And of course, the Mother Beater is just Sex on a Stick to me...
I saw it on Imax which I highly recommend. I thought everyone did a fabulous job.. EVEN Fuggie Gyllenhaal... but Yes! Especially on Imax, her face is unfortunate.
But don't worry, I saw Stepbrothers too. That movie was vulgar and crass with an unnecessary swear word every two seconds. In other words, it was perfect. That is one of my fave comedic pairings in a long time. It even had a bit part with Horatio Sanz... All in all, genius.
WOW! That X-Files film really flopped. I guess the truth isn't out there anymore.
Orange soda is the shit.
As for TDK, I'll see it when they start re-running the shit out of it on HBO.

On topic, the Hub and our two sons wanted to see this movie in Imax. It cost $60 for all of us to go....just the tickets. We waited in line for 1 hour to get the best seats and thought we had it made. Some total shithead had his friend in front of us reserve his seat and when he arrived he thought it would be hilarious to fart loudly throughout the entire movie. Shithead and his friend laughed the entire time thinking that his farting was something incredible. I wanted to kill him. Instead, our 12 year old son took charge. He waited until there was a non deafening part in the movie, leaned over to Shithead and loudly said "Wow, you really are something. A total talent. It must be great to be you. You know, I think even goldfish can fart". A round of applause went up in our section and total laughter. God I love my kids!!!!
Catwoman next, and the Michelle Pfeiffer variety, not Halle Berry's.

I haven't even heard of Journey to the Center of the Earth.
I am sad to say I wasted 10.25 to see this (I definitely should've paid as a child) I was wasted the whole movie and still didn't like it. I feel people just went for the hype, and I do like Heath Ledger as an actor but I think Jack Nicholson was a much better Joker, my opinion and I'm entitled to it!!! I wasn't that impressed and Katie should've reprised her role.
