Hey doll, your info on ranges and octaves is very interesting, far from boring. You are proof that dlisted is edifying. We can learn more than just new terms like blumpkin, now we know better about vocal ranges, and how it may be possible to hit a note, but not sing at it. Don't say it's boring. Yeah, peaches, 3 1/2 is good, but of course it depends o the quality of the notes you sing, not just your range.
And 5 octaves is more in line with a male range, since they can flip into extended falsetto. Plus, have a bigger larynx allows or their vocal folds (not chords, correct terminology is folds, like a pussy, lol) can stretch more- and their folds are larger, so they can go lower.

No, she didn't really start her career early in the vain of a Britney or Lindsay Lohan. She was 19 when she got discovered, 20 when her first album came out, and she'd actually had the chance to party before all of this. If you look at pictures of her from her high school years, Mariah's fashion sense hasn't changed much - she's ALWAYS been tacky. The only reason she looked good in the beginning of her career fashion-wise was because Tommy Mottola and Sony had her on a tight leash. She's just always been juvenile, it has nothing to do with what she does for a living.

Maybe she felt that she was forced to grow up too soon and become an adult before she'd had fun as a teenager. Maybe she's trying to retrieve the years she lost being a workhorse for a record company. Its a shame and I can't see her having a whole lot of friends. Who wants to hang out with a 38 going on 13 year old? I saw a bit of her house on MTV Cribs once and it looked empty, sad and lonely!

@notorious rem - that's a pretty astute analysis. She always struck me as childlike and seeking approval attention from men - but in that stripper kind of "look but don't touch" way. Most strippe were sexually abused as children. Interesting about heroin addicts. I really cant stand Mimi, I mean her 'music' has gone down the shitter and her 'act' is just so damn tired she needs to grow up and see a therapist.
