R.I.P. Estelle Getty
I knew this day was coming, but that doesn't make it any easier. Estelle Getty passed away this morning at her home in Los Angeles. She was 84. Estelle was surrounded by her family and friends when she went away. She suffered from Lewy Body Dementia for years.
I will miss her and I'm not just saying that! I mean it. If I knew how to cry, I would shed a million tears. I'll quietly eat a piece cheesecake instead. It's what Sophia would have wanted.
Rest in peace, Estelle.....

However, for those of us who did appreciate Estelle Getty's work, most notably on "The Golden Girls" we're sad we won't be able to see her comedic chops on anything but reruns. Try to cultivate a little empathy. It's much more attractive than apathy. BTW, you sounded a little suicidal there, seek help.

I remember hearing or reading she was actually the youngest golden girl, but idk if that's true.

I loved the golden girls when I was young&"Sophia"was my favorite:)

My Grandfather has Dementia and it's truly awful he doesn't recognize anyone and keeps asking when he's going home... but only remember the home from his childhood. :(
