It's not a color wheel folks. This is not painting class. Yellow and blue do not necessarily make green.
When I tell people that my mother's side is Indian and my father is black, no one wants to believe that either, but it is no exact science how black OR white (or any other race) your offspring may be. There is every shade of the rainbow in my family. I am just on *this* end.
The baby's color now does not determine it's color later (as if it matters anyway). Take it from someone that was one.

That 1/4 black is some powerful stuff, the blk gene is quite dominant so...
With Black folks, you never know what kind of mixes you will get. For instance, my daughters are half filipino. Ones light and ones dark. Both her dad and I are the same color brown. I wouldn't be suprised in the least if my oldest, lighter daughter ended up with a brown baby if she decided to marry a white guy. Genetics are a tricky subject. Its not hard to see that Nahla came out with some color. Halle is not dark, but she isnt the lightest skinned bi-racial product either.

OT-- there are also cases of women who have had twins with two different fathers-- one comes out black and one white. The odds are pretty astronomical though.
