Amen to that, sister! I so love the classics...I think I was born AFTER my time because I LOVE the movies from the 30's and 40's. There was plenty of drama behind the scenes back then, too, but there was some modicum of discretion and they kept their shit behind closed doors for the most part...most handled the "not-so-savory" tidbits about their personal lives with a lot more class than today's bunch of halfwit celebs who think their vices are so newsworthy and keep them in the media for the wrong reasons. Alas, old Hollywood is dead...may she RIP and be kept alive in memory by those of us who loved her.

It might be a clue as to how the musical will go that no one in the cast except Cage got famous (and he might have benefited from nepotism). Even the Valley Girl (Deborah Foreman) disappeared. Frederic Forrest had a modest career, I guess.

From the soundtrack, you still sometimes hear "I Melt with You" and "Love My Way." The Plimsouls were brilliant but you rarely hear them anymore.
