Wino's Not Doing So Good
Today's Crackie of Camden health watch update isn't positive Our little crackie might have TB.
The Sun reports that Wino has been coughing up blood from a chest infection. I thought she normally coughed up blood? You learn something new every day!
The docs also think she might have tuberculosis because of her massive weight loss and loss of appetite. Shit, that means 90% of those Hollywood twats have TB.
A source said, "She’d been been suffering horrible coughing fits and hurling up blood for a while but refused to be examined. Doctors now believe it is tuberculosis and are doing more tests to be certain."
Wino is currently on a drip and the docs are trying to wean her ass of drugs. I'll rub my swollen nipple (don't ask) for good luck because they need it! The only way to get Wino off drugs is to get the drugs off her! That didn't make any sense, but I'm still drunk.
I will say a million prayers for Wino at the roulette wheel today! The roulette wheel is my own personal Jesus! Wait.....the doctors didn't say how her crackhive is holding up? Is it on an IV drip too? SAVE WINO'S CRACKHIVE!!!

Interesting medical news about Winehouse. My mother is a Public Health nurse, and she worked the TB ward at the county hospital in the early 60's. She received hazardous duty pay & a chest x-ray, etc every 6 months. She got TB between check-ups and somehow walled the infection off in her lungs without any treatment or developing a cough. She had to take TB meds for 2 years, and to this day shadows show up on chest X-rays.
Doesn't everybody who smokes crack develop a hacking, blood-spitting cough? How can they find an un-tattooed spot for a TB skin test? Damn, cardiac arrythmia can occur for plenty of reasons,including lung diseases.
Winehouse may be doomed. As one lady here pointed out, TB meds are hell on one's system, even if one is in otherwise good health. Drug resistant TB is on the rise, especially in places where all public health $ is going on AIDS treatment & prevention.
I worked at a full-service center for homeless or desperately poor people for years without getting TB, Hepatitis, lice,(those little fuckers jump) etc-but the free clinic could barely keep up with the demand. I'm so mean that germs were afraid of me.Odd thing is I had to take med leave for a genetic disorder and I've been weird ever since. Can't stand to see or hear about anyone's pain without twitching-so MK I wince for your swollen nipple.

I have a hard time believing the TB story, but no doubt that mess is incubating all manner of weapons-grade viruses. Or maybe to paraphrase the Ya Ya Sisterhood, the only disease that can survive in that fucked up body is alcoholism.

I do too. Hell, if it is active, the Crack Hive just infested the whole ER staff, lab, x-ray techs. I call bullsh!t also. If the Hive is so infested with TB, it should show up on a simple chest xray. Is she in a hospital or vet clinic?
Anyway, the hospital I worked at, used to screen all active drug abusers --channeling da Hive-- for TB anyhoo.

That movie scared the crap out of me! Wino as a disease-carrying monkey? That image works for me, sadly.
If she does have TB (and I say "if" because I still have trouble believing the hospital would miss it), I don't know how her body is going to fight it. My husband was exposed to TB years ago in the military, and his body couldn't even tolerate the med regime designed for people who test positive for it. And he was a healthy guy (except for being a carrier for TB, of course). Wino looks like she's the sickliest person in the Western World. I don't hold out much hope for her if this is true.

Scary. I worked with a woman that got TB because she was working with some sort of agency with the homeless. She wasn't contagious though, just something with the chest x-ray (?) It's sad though, I used to not give a crap about wino cbut I saw some vid of her a few days ago from 2004 where she's all healthy and smiling, her hair actually MOVES and it just made me feel sadness.
