I've heard so many stories when women went through whole fertility process not once, they and their family spent a lot of nerves and money for it, but it didn't work. So they are left all devastated and so on. Although in some countries internal adoption cost almost nothing, these women rather spend a fortune for a fertility treatments, than consider adopting a child.

Maybe God trying to show these women that they must not be so selfish to want to inbreed their own "super-special" DNA, when there are so many orphans in this world.

You're doing absolutely NOTHING good, when you're giving birth to a child. You're ONLY doing a good thing when you raise a child as a good person. Any child, your own or an orphan.

Surely uou are doing a better thing, when you take an orphan, because you give somebody in need - love and future, you're not forcing overpopulation and you also help social system.

I don't have any children yet, but when I feel myself ready for kids - I first consider adoption, cause it has been my goal since childhood. If for some reason that wont work, only then I'll consider getting preggers.

There are a whole slew of differences between the Gosselins and the Duggars and I hate when the two families are compared. The money the Gosselins make from this show is to help take care of the kids they already have. I think it is obvious that they won't have any more than 8 kids.

The money the Duggars make from their specials, however, just gives them more money to keep having more and more kids. They'll probably have 30 kids by the time they are done. Can you imagine if all of their 20+ kids each have 20+ kids of their own? The Duggars are going to take over the World.

Anyway, if I were Kate I would take any opportunity that was granted to me. The Gosselins were offered their first special because they were the only family in the country that already had multiples prior to having sextuplets. She does get a lot of free stuff from people but she is sacrificing her privacy to do that.

No, I didn't mean that you suggested it, others here have. I do see your point of view, especially having ONE set of multiples, they should've been very prepared for the thought of another set. They probably never dreamed of having 6, but they of all people should've been realistic with themselves that it may happen again. With that said, I do think they are doing the best they can in the situation--doing a lot better than MANY parents I see these days. Jon and Kate had IUI, which is a procedure that inserts the sperm directly into the uterus. It only costs about $700, and that's only if your insurance doesn't cover it, which most do. It is not a $15000 procedure like IVF. So, hmmmmm...let's see...Wait two years and spend thousands and thousands of dollars for a baby you may or may not get, or do a simple, inexpensive procedure that takes 20 minutes in your doctor's office?? Which would YOU choose?

GlitterLove, I apologize if I got the procedure incorrect. Even if they are different procedures, they still carry a significant risk of producing multiple fetuses. Actually, the IUI procedure has a higher rate of multiple births than IVF because the doctor (assuming she/he is a specialist), can many times control the fertilization process in IVF

"We often hear reports of high order multiple births in the media and many times these stories are associated with fertility clinics. I know it's a lot to take care of 8 kids, but to me it seems like she is always asking one of the 50 babysitters they have on call to watch the kids. In EVERY episode, someone is watching at least some of her kids, if not all. That one sister in law seems to get stuck doing it the most.
I hate when people have all of these kids, then ship them on others to raise them. Deal with it. You made your bed, now lie in it.

It's the dirty little secret of science-assisted pregnancies that no one wants to talk about.
