Trouble Got Screwed!
Stop what you're doing right now and get on the phone to your congressman, pimp, sugar daddy or whomever! Trouble is in trouble! As you know, Leona Helmsley left her beloved poochie $12 million and screwed her grandchildren for "for reasons which are known to them."
Well, some dumb bitch of a judge stole $10 million of Trouble's cash! Okay, he didn't really steal it, but he overturned her will and gave $10 million to charity and $6 million to her two gold digging grandchildren.
Trouble has been left with a pathetic $2 million. That judge basically put Trouble in the damn poor house! Now she has to move out of her mansion and into the women's shelter.
The judge decided to fuck over Trouble after Leona's dumb grandchildren filed papers in March claiming she was crazy in the brains when she signed her will in 2005. They worked out a deal with the HBICs of Leona's estate that if they withdrew their objection, the will would be changed. The deal was signed off by a judge and the Attorney General's Office.
Trouble's caretaker, Carl Lekic, told the New York Post that $2 million should be enough for her. He said her annual expenses are only $190,000 which includes guardian fee, security, grooming, food and medical care. So he's in on it too?
These people should be ashamed of themselves! When you see a raggedy Trouble roaming the streets of Florida shouting, "old clothes for sale," you know who is to be blame.

$190,000/year seems like an enormous amount to me, but there must be limitations on what the dog's caretakers could spend or the cost of care would be more.
I think she just made it such an outrageous total amount to p.o. her offspring. she probably realized that even her lavish lifestyle could be achieved for a dog for a lot less than $12 million.
I remember studying Helmsley's will in my Trusts & Estates class last fall. Supposedly the reason she didn't leave any to the other two grandkids was that they were supposed to name at least one of their children after her or Harry, and neither of them did. Pretty stupid, but hey -- every good golddigger knows you've got to kiss some ass to get the dough!
I personally don't think ANYONE should be allowed to leave huge sums of dough to their offspring -- that's what leads to idiotic fuckers like George W. Bush, who have no concept of what it takes to earn money. (Hence his "You work 3 jobs? That's fantastic. Uniquely American, isn't it?" comment.)
However, UNTIL some sort of measure is put into place whereby inheritances will be limited, the courts need to keep their damn noses out of it. What happened to the idea of testamentary freedom? That old lady was mean and batshit crazy, but her grandkids didn't earn that money -- she and her husband did. She should be allowed to decide where it goes, not some judge who has no idea of what went on behind closed doors in the Helmsley household.
This shit is hillarious! however its sad that a will can be over turned. thats what i heard the hiltons did years ago when conrad hilton left most of his fortune to charity and only 1 million to each of his family members. someone of the hiltons sued the charity and got all the money back. well. i guess in the end not even wills are a garauntee. geez life sucks.

I'm sorry, but that is just all sorts of wrong. Leona was a grade A biotch, but there was obviously a reason she didn't leave the money to those people, and left it for her dog instead. She had to be somewhat coherent when she signed the papers, right? Or the judge/court at that time wouldn't have let her continue with it.
I don't think it was fair of the judge to give those leeches even a cent of that money. She didn't intend for them to ever have it.

Leona was a first rate bitch. I'm glad her will was overturned and charity got some benefit. It's asinine and beyond hateful to leave that kind of money to a freakin' dog. Her grandchildren were not necessarily bad just because Leona left them out of her will. She was just a first rate bitch.

All of you saying her "will was dishonored" should really consider the circumstances and look up what kind of person she was. I'm glad that charities will get most of it. They need it a heck of a lot more than some stupid little dog. About her rights being violated, spare me. This will was a BIG exception. Most people don't leave millions to a dog. The charities will put it to better use. I mean, a freakin dog! It blows my mind how inconsiderate that is of other people when there are all types of problems poor people in the world face that could be solved with that money.

ITA, madam s. - it's gotta be right up there on the top of rude things to do in one's life...but then I also think - I guess the seed doesn't fall too far from the tree.......
And THEN I think - I had a dog for 13 years. The most expensive thing I ever had to do for him was put him down and even that was only $250...and my dog never once asked me how our finances were.
In fact, I think the happiest time in his life was when he realized we were going to live in the park for a couple days ;p So 2 million is pretty damn good.
But STILL! If you can't trust your own family to respect your wishes in death then how you can trust anyone ever? I can't believe that there wasn't one of her kids that said: "Fuck that, I don't need her damn money anyway - I can make my own." Pretty sad, if you ask me.

That is truly fucked up. A will should be honored. She donated almost ALL of her money to the charities she supported and then left that $12 million to Trouble because that's what she damn well wanted. She left the kids and moneygrubbing grandkids out for a reason. I think this sucks hard.

I don't mind the charities getting the cash, but those greedy grandchildren get some too? That's messed up. For whatever reason, as stated in her will, she didn't want them getting anything, I don't see why the judge thought they should. He should've given most of it charity.
