@Kizzy-Exactly. Rule one of wrtiting, write what you know. I wish I had your illustation skills. Love art but am not skilled in drawing. I wish I was lucky enogh, like you, to be able to translate pictures in my mind to paper and have them look beautiful, but alas, I was not blessed with the drawing gene. I hae an uncle, who was an illustrator for Disney in the 50's. Wish I would have gotten is talents. His wife was a bitch, hated Calif. and forced him to quit Disney and move back here to the Midwest.

@Kizzy- I am taking my time on the book because I want it to be perfect. It goes through lots of changes and periods where I totally ignore it and treat it like an unwanted step child. I am pretty stubborn, so the chances of anyone making me do something I don't want to do are slim to none. The thing may suck for all I know, but it has been fun to write. It has been cathartic to say the least. How long have you been writing?

You sound way cool, yourself. It is great to meet another cat lover. I know what you mean about surroundings, my neighbors on 3 sides, have dogs. You should take your time, and make sure it's as you want it, when you do submit it for publishing I had to stick to my guns on the character issue, sorry if they weren't prepared to pick up a series, but I'm not going to let them screw it up just so I can finally be published. If it was good enough for one to want it, others will, too, and they might be more understanding when it comes to leaving the character as is.

@Kizzy- you sound ultra fab! My mother and I buy lots of childrens books, especially ones about cats. It is nice to meet another cat lover. In my corner of the world (which I suspect is relatively close to Hell)I am looked upon as somewhat freakish because of my love for cats.
I am a writer myself. Working on a book the last 10years. Also attempting an idea at writing a tv pilot. Very much in it's infancy, embryotic stage actually.
I hate the whole idea of publishers and tv types changing things on me. Stick to your guns. Don't change a thing you don't want.
