Tila said, "It is because of me — I definitely think [my show] has helped the movement. Before it came out, everyone was still a little apprehensive about [same sex relationships]. Then they realized, 'Wow, everyone is really into this stuff, and it is fine.' The next thing you know, [gay marriage] is legal."

Good luck DevilGirl. While always a night-owl, shift-work has caused me to become a total vampire. I literally never sleep (and unlike Christian Bale's character I gained weight). I just took more Gravol, I worked last night, I have to work tonight, etc. Stress doesn't help but it's a nasty cycle. Not great with computers and posts, so I hope this attaches to yours.

@Angel_i- Yeah, you are right about what you say. I have been EXTRA stressed out lately, so I do indeed agree with your assesment. However, I have been an insomniac since my early teens and I really wasn't stressed. I have been told by a few Dr.'s that there are simply some people who do not sleep a normal 8 hrs their entire lives. They say it is not unlike hyperactivity, however those with this condition do not spazz out (which I don't ), they simply have an over abundance of mental energy that prevents a normal sleep pattern. I have tried meditation and various things. Some do work in the short term. I would just like a more scheduled sleep. Regular hours. Stress right now is my prob. Thanx for the suggestions. I will try them!

I was serious, actually. Complex carbs (even pasta) is great to induce sleepiness, particularly after a workout...
Otherwise, I would seriously look into spiritual healing (counselling, drumming, dance, psychiatry - whatever floats your boat) because you're likely all stressed out about something.
Lots of times, an inability to sleep is the side effect of feeling out of control. Your mind won't let you rest because it believes you need to be alert...if you can convince your (inner) self that everything will hold and/or that you can't get control of any damn thing without rest, it might help.
Obviously, I don't know you at all - I'm just speaking from experience. Whatever it is, I do hope you can find something that works, life without sleep is hard! -

@Angel_i- I don't care how hard of a day I have had, physically, emotionally, whatever, I still cannot sleep. Don't know about the potatoes (if you were being serious)but I have tried wine, pills, pot, etc.. NOTHING! Doctors swear I am faking to get meds, but I don't even take them, I usually end up giving them away. Valium work, but I can't get them. I was thinking of one ofthose hokey sleep disorder clinics, but shoot, I can barely afford gas, much less some stupid clinic.
@Parker- Hope your visit goes well, and do give an update. I would be interested to know of anything new to get some effin' sleep!

True. I've never had the eating/walking/driving thing with Ambien or Trazadone, but it still gave me fucked up dreams. Trazzies were the worst for me, dream-wise. As I stated before, now I take Remeron (which also was originally prescribed as an anti-depressant) and I still have the same problems. Maybe my brain doesn't like me. :)

@Fucking Classy- Ambien only made me eat. It didn't work. The only thing that puts me to sleep is Valium and I can't PAY a Dr. to prescribe it. My father is a neurosurgeon and he is one of those Dr.s who goes by the book. Just my luck.

2Oklahoma- We dated about 5 years, lived together about a year and a half out of the five. He is a serial cheater and a compulsive liar, and in addition to his normal craziness, he now is an iv drug user (crank). He shows up periodically nowadays, crying, guilt tripping, the works. @Parker- Yeah, I did the Ambien thing too, but the only thing that it did was make me eat in my sleep. I would wake up with empty Chips Ahoy bags next to me and not know how they got there or who ate them. My mom emailed me one day a article about a bunch of woman who had a class action suit going against Ambien for massive weight gain(one woman claimed 100lbs she gained while Ambien sleep eating)- I quit Ambien that day. Chips Ahoy and sleep eating scared me. Now I take nothing and if I get two hours a night, it's a big deal. I don't get two hours in consecutively though. Insomnia sucks is right, and those who don't have it have no idea what it is like.
