Bring Out The Cheescake
Fuck yes! Dorothy, Blanche and Rose reunited at the TV Land Awards in Los Angeles last night. They received an award for being the hottest bitches on TV or something like that. These tramps are the original Sex and the City. They did it better. Sofia couldn't make it. She was too hungover. Naw, Estelle Getty has retired from showbusiness. She's currently battling Dementia. :(

Why the hell is Betty White wearing a cheap polyester pantsuit from Wal-Mart? She looks like hell - Rose Nyland would never be caught dead in a getup like that. At least Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan are dressed in a proper, tasteful Dorothy/Blanche manner.
Poor Estelle Getty - she's been in the throes of Alzheimer's for years now. A real shame - she and Arthur were the pistols of the series.
I loved all the girls; i just can't choose between them. they're all great!

God I LOVE these women! The Golden Girls never gets stale, it's as fresh and funny today as it was in the 80's/90's. The four women played off one another brilliantly. Their on-screen chemistry was a sheer delight to watch. I have seasons 1 through to 5. I watch them religiously.
Girls - thankyou so much for the wonderful, funny and entertaining memories.

Actually, it's always been reportedly Bea Arthur (Dorothy) and Betty White (Rose) who didn't get along. Never heard any real confirmation - but if it was true, I'd like to think at 86 and 85, old grudges would fade.

--YESS! I still faithfully watch this show! I was too young to understand the humor when it was originally on but definitely get ALL the jokes now!! This show dealt with interracial marriage, artificial insemination, AIDS, menopause, gays/lesbian issues, alzheimer's all in the 80s and early 90s! Unbelievable! I can't believe Lifetime is dropping the show and it's going to the Hallmark Chanel(who the hell watches that??)

GG's is one of the few 80's era shows that still re-runs well. Esp compared to the trash on TV now. Miss ya girls.

Sorry, missed your post--DeeDee has been spamming me as "Jonnay Deep." Not sure if they actually filmed it in SC, but that's what it's 'posed to represent, I think. I have not seen "Bella" but will add it to my NF queue. I figure if I watch 3 DVDs a night for the next 24 years, I can get the queue down to ten or less.
I didn't know about Estelle Getty and i am very sorry to hear this news. And she was the youngest one of the group, I think!
