Farewell, Bo Diddley
What the fuck is with all these deaths lately? Yves Saint Laurent, Harvey Kormon, Pringles can man, Dick Martin, Oscar the dog, Sydney Pollack and now Bo Diddley! This needs to stop.
Bo, one of the fathers of rock 'n' roll, died today at the age of 79. His rep told AP that he passed away from heart failure at his home in Archer, FL. Bo suffered a major heart attack last August and a stroke three months before that.

Man, this one breaks my heart. I saw him at a free show he did at the Santa Monica Pier years ago. Everyone was dancing and singing, it was a grand time.
May he rest in peace or rock the heavens, however it works out best. You shall be missed, Bo Diddley.

I heard one of the interviews Bo Diddley gave with NPR awhile back. He sounded bitter about having to tour to pay his bills. He said rightly that at his age and with his accomplishments that he ought to have been retired. He said like many artist of that era, he'd been ripped off and he did not even own his songs due to weird copyright laws.
Major scandal and terrible all around.
