Look, I appreciate and respect all of the opinions regarding Britney, but she is SERIOUSLY ill with bipolar disorder.

It is a terribly, debilitating illness, which I also suffer from, as do dozens of my family members from my father's side of the family, going back generations.

It is an illness that usually shows up in the mid-20's to 30, which would explain why Britney seemed okay and is now a mess.

She is taking all sorts of medication to find the right combination for her, and it can take years to find the right combo.

For myself, it took 3 years, in which I gained 60 lbs in 2 months, lost my hair and ended up in the emergency room with convulsions.

Why did I continue? Because I didn't want to end up in a mental hospital or dead like so many of my ancestors.

I'm fine now, but I'm a size 10 rather than the size 4 I used to be.

A good trade off for my life, methinks.

Please give Britney a break.

If anyone checked out her family history, I'm sure it would be a nightmare.

She can't help her genetics. I think it's great that she has her dad to take care of her now, but unfortunately as soon as he's not doing it anymore, she'll probably stop taking her meds and go crazy again.

The meds make people fat, and she has too much social pressure in LA to accept that.
