ScarJo Shouldn't Sing Live
Correction: ScarJo shouldn't sing AT ALL. Above is ScarJo performing "Falling Down" from her new album during AOL's Live Sessions. The bitch sounds like Sinead O'Connor on testosterone. ScarJo needs to "fall down" a damn well already.

I didn't hate it. Actually, I kinda liked it.
I think she should have recorded it under a nom-de-plume. I think it would get way more appreciation without her previous celebrity attached to it. Seriously.
But who the hell compared Scarjo to TOM WAITS??? NEVER EVER the same category. And anyone who doesn't know who Tom Waits is...is a plastic thing. Brain not included.
I made it to about 52 seconds. That was more than enough.

No, I think we're being reasonably harsh, because people with MUSICAL TALENT should get record deals, not overrated starlets who haven't even learned the craft of acting yet.
There's an unfortunate epidemic of talentless actors/actresses deciding they should also make horrible music, also put out hideous lines of fashion, also go to the U.N. and give misguided, uninformed talks on world issues. When in fact there are highly qualified people in all of these fields who can't get a break.

well you have no idea of how technology can make a person's studio effort sound perfect. they're able to lift individual notes out of a performance and replace them, able to correct the pitch (so one is not off key any longer) etc etc.
the near-perfection of studio recording has RUINED live performances for me for all except the performers at the very top (i'm talking classical - the rock guys you can't hear because they're too loud and they're so often stoned one doesn't expect anything from them)
Viva, I have no clue who Tom Waits is either, but I'd put the boots to her, medium style, either way...

I don't think her voice is as bad as people are saying. She's surprisingly got good reviews for the album, too.
There's a couple spots in Yesterday Is Here where, when she is singing in her natural range, she doesn't sound that bad, but this crazy singing like a man is ridiculous. It's so comical that if it didn't obviously all cost so much I'd think she was doing an Ashton Kutcher show...
