Let The Music Play, Down At Fraggle Rock!
The Fraggle Rock movie musical is coming! Variety is reporting that The Weinstein Co. has hired Cory Edwards to direct and write the live-action musical feature. The Jim Henson Co. will produce the movie. Ahmet Zappa will be one of the film's executive producers. The producers will also ask popular bands to write songs for the movie.
The movie will take the core characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red outside of their home in Fraggle Rock, where they interact with humans, which they think are aliens. The show premiered on HBO in 1983, ran five seasons and was broadcast in more than 80 countries.
YES! That acid tab that I've been saving for all these years now has a purpose. Wait, does the awesomeness in acid ever stop working due to old age? Don't tell me. I'll find out the fun way.
Below is the intro for Fraggle Rock. I hope it stays in your head all day long!

who tha hells brilliant idea was it to cancel this shit? it was the greatest. its like one day i was watching it and one day it never came on again. like Gullah Gullah Island (remember that junk?). who ever cancelled this shit needs to be smacked.

I didn't even need to play the clip to get the song stuck in my head. How sad that the word "Fraggle" can trigger every nuance and inflection in that song but I can't even remember how to long divide.
I LOVED this show as a kid, heres hoping they don't completetly ruin it for the kids of this generation.

I think it will be well received by kids! I hope so. My little cousin loved it but he didn't love "Today's Special"... which broke my heart because that was the best show ever!
You should get order the Fraggle VHS videos from eBay and show your kids I bet they'd love it!
I use to watch the hell out of this when I was little.I'm very interested in seeing how this catch's kids these days attention. My kids love anything throw back though!
I used to love this show as a kid! A friend may have also given me a DVD set for Christmas 2 years ago...
Acid keeps in the freezer. Without the cold, it loses it's potency over time. I used to know this girl who looked and acted just like Mokey.
We love THE FRAGGLES.
Good grief that made me feel my age! I was a teen when that show was on and we would get high and watch it lol.
Who remembers Captain Kangaroo, Zoom and Electric Company Morgan Freeman as Easy Reader was the shitz.
O-M-G... I was just watching my Fraggle Rock VHS (don't ask) with my 4 year old cousin last week, and I couldn't help but think what a genius show it is and how it should be brought back ASAP.
Wow, great news. I LOVE the fraggles!
fraggle rock yeah!

I LOVED the fragiles! When I was little I would play with them in a sandpit with my friend and dig little caves for them to live in in the wall of the pit. It was the McDonald's toys. The fragiles and the muppets. When I was REALLY little, I called the muppets the "meat-nots" because I probably couldn't talk very well at the time. Or maybe my mom was giving me those acid tabs you are raving about. Who knows.
I wish I had some acid, preferably Felix!

God, this has turned into 70's Tuesday for me. This morning I was downloading songs from the 70's to make a CD for my childhood friend, who is dying of brain cancer and now all this tv stuff. I am alternately laughing and crying.
I am also going to kill my husband, if anyone cares. He keeps supposedly 'upgrading' my computer and putting stuff in and out of it, but apparently neglected to tell me that I no longer have a friggin CD burner. I spent $75 on iTunes downloading songs and now I can't burn them. My daughters know how to get songs free from My Space, but I still can't figure out how to.

Missy - The Krofft's started with HR Pufnstuf in 1969, and kept making shows through the 70s. I'm only 22, but my parents bought me VHS tapes of Pufnstuf and it was my favorite when I was little.
There are a whole lot of hot sluts in Krofft shows.

OMG! I just love You Tube. In all this nostalgia and old TV shows, I was thinking of a local children's entertainer. I have no idea if there are other old(er) Bostonians around here besides me, but Boomtown with Rex Trailer was the big local show. He used to come to our town stadium every July and it was the event of the year. He would land in a helicopter and put on a great show. They have a great video on You Tube about him that also has famous Bostonians talking about him. Brings back some great memories....

Ah, the Banana Splits! How off-topic do you think we can get this thread? ;) Remember the guest appearance on The Brady Bunch at King's Island Amusement Park?
BTW, the late Allan Melvin (Brady's Sam the Butcher) voiced Drooper, the Splits guitar-playing lion.
Labyrinth was a another great one.
I loved the Muppet Show, movies. Beaker was a hot bitch!! I was starting to get a little too old when the Fraggle Rock came out, so I didn't watch much of it.
RIP Jim Henson. Brilliant man.

Sid and Marty Krofft are way hotter than Jim Henson. Sorry! Children's programming doesn't get too much better than that, although the Dark Crystal is a puppetry masterpiece that will never be topped. There's just something about the Krofft's painted clapboard backgrounds, smoking animatronic mushrooms and midgets in hippie frog costumes that no one can touch.

Well, since some of us have ventured out of the sacred land of Jim Henson into the complete shlock that was Sid & Marty Krofft Productions, I once had a cat we named, "Witchy Poo". Oh, and Land of the Lost, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, or The Bugaloos anyone?
LOVED Fraggle Rock...especially Red.

For other oldies like me, HR Pufnstuf was the best acid trip show.

This is a good example of why doing acid and creating children's shows does not make a good mix:
