Doggies From The 20s Had To Work Hard For Their Chow
What the fuckity fuck did I just watch? Am I high? Did somebody slip me an acid tab?
I watched this mess at least 5 times and I still have ten thousand questions.
Okay, this short movie was made from the 20s or 30s. It's apparently a series of shorts. This one is called "Trouble" and stars Queenie the dog as some sort of tart who finds herself in a situation with some gangster dog. By situation I mean he's assaulting her ass. The most disturbing thing about this little clip, is that the dogs walk on their hind legs the whole time. I don't even want to know how they got the dogs to do that.
I must go and cuddle with my dog now and promise him that I'll never make him wear clothes again.

I can tell you alittle about this short. There were nine of these made by Metro Goldwyn Mayer from 1929 to 1931. They were spoofs made from some the classics of that time. They were called MGM "Dogville" comedy shorts. They are also called "The Barkies" You can buy a DVD called " The Complete MGM Dogville Comedy Shorts" They are a bit bizarre. The dogs walk around with supports around their chests that have lines hooked to them in the back and it looks like they were hoisted up and moved around like puppets. The two starring roles in all the shorts are played by the same two dogs. The female dog role was played by a male dog. Just thought someone might be interest.

I agree with the people who say that the level of acting ability far exceeds many of the celebs' today. The character and expression on the dogs' faces surpass the talents of our celebutantes by miles.

i saw this scene in a party where i date my friends i know from on wealthykiss dotcom.
They play these shorts on Turner Classic Movies. I tivo'd After The Thin Man and got both After The Thin Man and Who Killed Rover?, a dog detective movie. It was late when I watched After the Thin Man and was convinced I was dreaming the dog short. The next day I checked my tivo and was relieved that my mind did not come up with that shit.
Felt like I was high and didn't smoke a thing either. I need to share that shit with my friends...

Here's a little bit of info on what you folks are watching. This is part of a series of shorts made from 1929 to 1931 known as the "Dogville comedies" series. They were puppy parodies of popular movies at the time.
