An ad featuring Beyonce with a cigarette in a long, old-fashioned holder in one hand is drawing controversy in Australia. The image is being used for magazine and newspaper ads as well as billboard ads to promote the Australian leg of her tour. People are calling for the ad to be removed, because they think it promotes smoking. A spokesperson from the Queensland Cancer Fund said, "Young women in particular are influenced by what they see in the media. So it doesn't help that they are regularly exposed to images such as celebrities smoking. With young women, image issues usually win out over health issues and it can actually be a prompt for them to start smoking." People aren't sure what Beyonce was thinking. Um...she doesn't think. Papa Knowles tells her what to do and she does it. People also need to realize that young women or whoever need to think for themselves. They see ads with Beyonce wearing hideous outfits and that doesn't mean they are going to go out to the nearest drag queen store and pick up a hideous frock made of sequins and rhinestones.
