Mary Steenburgen Says “Book Club 2” Is Coming With Gal Pals Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda And Candice Bergen

God’s prophet on Earth’s mother, Mary Steenburgen, was on Andy Cohen‘s Sirius radio show and because us gays love a talented older woman, she just had to tell him about a dinner party she gave recently with her Book Club co-stars Diane Keaton, Candice Bergen and Jane Fonda. That is a “yas kween” moment to me, honey (I’m also secretly a forty-three year old housewife). And during the discussion about the most estrogen-filled/menopausal room since Barbara Walters left The View, Mary spilled to Andy that there is going to be a Book Club 2. You know I saw the first one in theaters along with 100 other middle-aged women and my best friend who knits on the weekend, so I. Can’t. Wait!

Mary told Andy about a random potluck that she had with her co-stars of the hit film- that among no heterosexual men under the age of 50 seen- Book Club. I think you straight dudes are missing out. It had heart and comedy, and Jane Fonda is a goddamn QUEEN! Anyway, Diane, who’s house is apparently a who’s-who clusterfuck of intermingled Pinterest ideas, grudgingly agreed to host a potluck between the four women. Mary, Candice, and Jane all came over and posted about it on their Instagram accounts:

Oh my god, Mary is such a mom. Her picture is a screenshot of the picture?! A picture of a screenshot?! How did she manage to reduce the quality of the image? I’m laughing.

Mary told Andy it was a wonderful dinner and then let it slip that another Book Club movie is on the way:

“We all turn up… it’s just the four of us. We’re kind of obsessed with each other because none of us had ever worked together and there had been these little meetings over the years between all of us, but the stories… are so incredible! And also I love it because I’m the baby of the group, so it’s really nice to like, for once in my life be the youngest… So, um… anyway: I love them and I guess we’re doing Book Club 2 because the film was incredibly successful. …Yeah, it was a huge–it made so much money!”

You’re welcome! As I said above, I bought a ticket and my friend bought a ticket, so yes, we are part of the reason Book Club 2 is a reality. In case you forgot, the first one was about a group of women who read 50 Shades Of Grey for the first time and experience various kinds of emotional and sexual and romantic awakenings. Which is also how Avengers: End Game made so much money at the box office, was Thanos sexual awakening post-50 Shades Of Gray. No, I’m obviously kidding. But wouldn’t you watch that?

Here’s some of Mary talking to Andy:
