A Spice Girls Animated Movie (With All Five Spices) Is Happening

The Spice Girls movie is a masterpiece,  so you would think that Mel C, Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Mel B, and Emma Bunton would never waste their time attempting to top such a level of celluloid success. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, the Spice Girls are making another movie. Just this time, it will be starring their cartoon likenesses instead.

Paramount Animation announced the project, saying the Spice Girls animated movie is in early development. Paramount won’t give awkward excuses for why there are only four cartoon divas screaming about girl power, because Posh actually wants to be a part of this.

All five Spice Girls have signed on to the project, and apparently it was all their idea. Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria says that “They are very involved,” and that they’re working on some new music for the film. It will also feature classic Spice Girls songs as well. Okay good, because I’m pretty sure every ticket holder would riot at the box office and demand a refund if they didn’t hear a cartoon Geri and Scary sing about zig-a-zig-ahs in “Wannabe.”

It’s also not know what they’ll look like, but I can’t be the only one who hopes we’re getting a full-length movie starring those weird mechanical marionette butterflies from the “Viva Forever” video.

This actually sounds like the perfect project for Victoria Beckham. It’s not a secret that she’s just far too busy to point while singing night after night with the rest of the girls. That’s too much work. But recording lines for an animated movie? Easy! She can probably get it all done in under 20 minutes.

“You rolling? Okay, here we go. Gucci dress, Gucci dress. Gucci dress? Gucci dress! Girl power, posh, Dolce, my husband David Beckham, shoes, glam, wink. What’s that? Well I don’t know, maybe there’s a scene where I say the word wink while I wink at my Gucci dress. Just trying to give you more than you need here.”
