Shannade Clermont (Of “The Bad Girls Club”) Talked About The Night Her Sugar Daddy Died

Shannade Clermont is one half of the Clermont Twins with her sister Shannon Clermont. You might remember them from when they dressed up in Kim Kardashian klone drag and did promo for all those sad-looking Hanes clothes–I mean–Yeezy Season 6. Or from the 14th season of the feminist docu-series The Bad Girls Club. Well, Shannade is also a Sugar Baby and she got in some major trouble with the law because her sugar daddy died and she was there the night it happened and also… she robbed him afterward.

Shannade spoke with Page Six about the charges brought against her for that messed up night where her sugar daddy died and she stole his debit card. The 25-year-old is heading to prison for a year because she pled guilty to wire fraud for stealing from James Alesi. James was Shannade’s 42-year-old, real-estate broker sugar daddy. In the interview, Shannade made some comments and she really doesn’t come off as someone who’s looking for early release.

So it all started on a date between James and Shannade. Or as the prosecution calls it “a $400 prostitution date”. On this “date” James did some cocaine which was laced with fentanyl and he died of an overdose. Shannade then took his debit card information and left him. But wait, she has an explanation:

“He wasn’t asleep when I left—he was just drunk… I have never been around people who have been on heavy drugs, so I didn’t really know… It was like, ‘Oh, he was a drunk mess.’ I was annoyed . . . [I thought] he was playing games. So I just left.”

You thought he was playing games? What game? Pretend Overdose?

Shannade then used his debit card to spend $20,000 over the next few months. Using it on important things like rent, flights, Valentino heels, and Beats by Dre headphones–you know: necessities. And look, she has an explanation for that too. She says she didn’t know he had died until later, and also James wasn’t exactly an angel.

‘The thing was, he was known as a sugar daddy—very known. He’s not, like, an innocent person.”

Very known to whom? Craigslist? The secret Reddit thread for Sugar Babies? And since when is spending money on a woman hotter and younger than you illegal? California is in trouble if it is.

According to her lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman, Shannade’s addiction to luxury is why she stole James’ money, saying at her sentencing this past April that Shannade was “reduced to trolling the Internet for prostitution dates” so that she could get money to sustain her lifestyle. And speaking of the court battle, the sisters say that the judge was a meanie who had it out for Shannade from the jump, calling out their use of Instagram during the trial:

“I don’t know what they expect us to post—like, us crying or looking sad? … I just feel like the judge had her mind made up… She kept talking about our social following. She said, ‘We need to use you as an example to your followers’…”

Um, I think the judge wants you to not post… at all. But listen, just because the judge didn’t think so, these girls have suffered! They had to cancel bookings because they had to get a judge’s permission to travel. I mean the tragedy! Oh, but that James guy? Shannade’s not, like, broken up about it:

“I mean, I didn’t love him; I liked him [He] was just someone who took care of me.”

At the sentencing trial, James’ sister called Shannade “calculated”, “greedy”, and “malicious”. His sister also said:

“My brother died, and [Shannade] went shopping.”

But Shannade fired back at James’ family in her interview with Page Six:

“Don’t really know his lifestyle. I mean, he’s been in and out of rehab for years. Like, you knew he had a drug problem, why am I the one to blame for that?”

The US Attorney of SDNY thinks she’s to blame and tweeted about her sentencing:

Meanwhile, Shannade’s sister, Shannon, also really piles on the showmanship of showing off her sister’s guilt and remorse and changed character by plugging the return of their clothing line:

“We are relaunching with sunglasses. We’re hoping to get a sample next week because we want to shoot it before Shannade goes [to jail]…”

Yeah better get in one last promo campaign before your sister goes to prison for a year for stealing the debit cards of the sugar daddy she allegedly left for dead. Maybe you can make it sexy prisoner-themed?
