Open Post: Hosted By The Maserati That Lil Nas X Bought Billy Ray Cyrus

May 22, 2019 / Posted by:

Lil Nas X‘s Old Town Road was already a hit before Billy Ray Cyrus guested on the remix. But the remix really blew up on the charts (although, Nashville isn’t loving it) and has been #1 on the Billboard 100 for seven weeks now. Well, Lil Nas is super pumped about it, so pumped that he decided to surprise Billy Ray with a thank you gift in the form of a new Maserati.

In Old Town Road, Billy Ray growls:

“Baby’s got a habit: diamond rings and Fendi sports bras. Ridin’ down Rodeo with my Maserati sports car.”

And so Lil Nas decided to take things literal and buy his new bro a Maserati. He posted to Twitter:

The next day he rolled up to Billy Ray’s house with a Maserati:

Did you notice that the floor mat in the entry way to Billy Ray’s studio/house/guest house/rich-people-have-way-more-buildings-than-you says: “Please remove your Balenciagas?” Like the Cyruses wear shoes!

Billy Ray also posted about his new car on Instagram:

I’m really happy for Billy Ray, he truly is manifesting some casual “cool dad” vibes with all the weed smoking, guitar slinging and now new Maserati. Although, Billy Ray should probably be the one to buy Lil Nas X a Maserati since Old Town Road made people temporarily forget that creepy stuff with his daughter from back in the day.
