A Bench Warrant For Tori Spelling’s Arrest Was Dropped

Tori Spelling hit the jackpot! Well, no, but she won’t be getting arrested any time soon, at the very least, which is a win! Tori must be kissed by a unicorn because that bench warrant, which was issued for her arrest at the beginning of April, has been dropped. She’s stepping into May as a new woman… okay not really. She’s still about to be sort-of audited so it’s like, you win some,  you lose some.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Tori dodged a bullet. Tori and Dean McDermott are fighting with City National Bank over some failed payments on a $400,000 loan–they still have more than $250,000 of it left to pay back. Tori was supposed to show up to a court hearing to deal with the mess, but sis was busy. She was actually over in Israel promoting children’s clothes with her bestie Jennie Garth.

Because Tori’s calendar on March 29 read both “Israel Promo” and “Court, Ew!” she chose the former, and the court chose an arrest warrant. The judge said she should be arrested and her bail was set at $5,000. Which is nice, because it’s low enough that you can maybe pay it–judge could have picked a number you can’t pay. But Tori is now in the clear.

The warrant has been dismissed, but Tori will have to do a bunch of other stuff. She’s going to get deposed on May 10 where she’ll be grilled under oath about all of her financial problems. Tori will be asked about her assets and about her income. A creditor is also going to go through all of Tori and Dean’s bad choices and determine how they can collect money from the couple if they can’t pay. Then, on July 1 she’ll have a hearing with a judge.

There is a silver-lining. Tori could maybe cut a deal with the bank before she has to deal with a judge making a decision instead. Which could be good? After City goes through all of Tori’s finances and sees the dead carcass from which they get to pick at, the might sympathize with her harsh realities… Or actually, I mean they’re a bank–they’ll probably just tell Tori to order less lattes and turn her children’s play-room into a slime factory. Luckily for Tori Queen Brenda Walsh is doing the 90201 reboot after all, so maybe that will help boost popularity and pay her more dollars which she can then immediately hand over to City National.
