Charlize Theron Reveals She’s Raising Her First Child, Jackson, As A Girl

The Daily Mail is reporting that Charlize Theron is gunning for Celebrity Mother Of The Year Award and she’s starting her bid early. In a move which is going to make religious fundamentalists explode in rage and tweet at her about the “truth” of gender and birth, Charlize let it be known that she is raising her first child, 7-year-old Jackson–who was introduced to the world as a boy–as a girl.

The Daily Mail says that Charlize Theron said she’s “two beautiful daughters”. For some time now we had seen Charlize out and about with her child who we assumed was a boy wearing dresses and skirts. Charlize is letting you know that Jackson is a girl. She said:

“Yes, I thought she was a boy, too… Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said: ‘I am not a boy!’ So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive. They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide. My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be. And I will do everything in my power for my kids to have that right and to be protected within that.”

This is actually not the first time Charlize has mentioned having two daughters, she told Michael B. Jordan in December during an Actors On Actors segment for Variety that she has “two young beautiful, black, African-American girls”. As well as adopting Jackson in 2012, Charlize also adopted daughter August in 2015.

Looks like Charlize just crowned herself Queen of Progressive Hollywood Mothers. Somewhere in the world Angelina Jolie is pulling out her hair and already plotting how to step up her game, asking Shiloh/John to get start thinking up what to say during an in-depth interview with People.
