Julianna Margulies Turned Down A Guest Appearance On “The Good Fight” Because Of Money

The Good Fight is the CBS All Access spinoff of the CBS hit The Good Wife, and with so many characters from the original show appearing on it, viewers have been wondering if the OG head bitch of The Good WifeJulianna Margulies, will grace it with her presence. Well, the answer is: “No.” And the reason is: “Money.”

Deadline is reporting that Julianna Margulies knows her worth, and sis–that ain’t it. Julianna was at The Contenders Emmys event on Sunday to promote her new miniseries The Hot Zone. While there she spoke to Deadline about how she had been approached to come back to the show but wasn’t offered enough money, saying that “CBS refused to pay my [ask].” Instead they offered her a guest star rate. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! “Guest”? Julianna scoffed:

“The showrunners had found a nice away to reintroduce my character, a story that was to span three episodes… I’m not a guest star; I started the whole thing with The Good Wife… I wanted to be paid my worth and stand up for equal pay. If Jon Hamm came back for a Mad Men spinoff or Kiefer Sutherland wanted to do a 24 spinoff, they would be paid.”

Hand-clap emoji to that! Get that equal pay. Deadline also spoke to co-creator, Robert King, about how Alicia may have returned if CBS All Access didn’t cheapen out:

“We thought maybe about making a big episode where she would be at the resistance, [and] Diane [played by Christine Baranski] and her face each other… But that would be the end of the story. It felt like an asterisk.”

Well I guess The Good Fight fans like myself will just have to deal with not seeing Julianna reprise her role. Dramatic sigh to that, but honestly the true travesty is that we will all be robbed of another chance to see the true star of the franchise: that hot, brunette Alicia Florrick wig which sat on Julianna’s head each episode. Time for the real spinoff for the real star: The Good Wig. Can’t wait to see the title sequence.
