Wendy Williams Says She Was Riding A Scooter In Walmart For A Very Good Reason

Wendy Williams was the subject of her own Hot Topics segment on today’s Wendy Williams Show when she addressed a photo that had been making the rounds over the weekend. Anybody who’s ever lived in a sober house knows that it’s perfectly normal for the entire sober house gang to travel several hours into the woods to roast marshmallows and play with guns. These kinds of trips are very common and usually include a 4AM trip to a far-flung Walmart to ride the scooters and eat potato chips you haven’t bought yet. Wendy was spotted over the weekend at a Walmart in Ellenville, NY, where she was snapped looking, well, looking like any woman you might find shopping at Walmart at 4 in the morning. I personally have never lived in a sober house (though I have checked off nearly everything else on that list), but according to Wendy, it’s all very normal and typical.

Here’s the photo Wendy addressed on her show.

Wendy shared that picture on Hot Topics and entered into a lengthy discussion about how it’s not what it looks like. Wendy first insisted she was camping because her sober gal pals said she should do something that was out of her comfort zone. Her options were skydiving, swimming with sharks or camping. She chose the latter because she thought it would be some fancy “glamping” experience. Instead she ended up in upstate New York riding a scooter and getting photographed buying $10 packages of discount underwear. According to The Muse:

On her show, Williams explained she had stopped in the Walmart around 4 am while upstate last week on a camping trip with her roommates at the sober-living facility and others.

She said the store staff allowed her to use the scooters because there were few people shopping at that hour. Radar pointed out that, “Her eyes are bulging in the shocking clip,” but Williams explained, “You know I have the Graves disease.”

Part of Wendy’s explanation was that the scooter picture was staged. She said somebody asked her to take a selfie with her but she didn’t want to get too close so she told him “go ahead and take the picture I’ll act like I’m shopping”. So, if I’m understanding correctly, Wendy POSED for this picture?! Oh Wendy. Unlike your husband’s alleged new baby, I was not born yesterday. Here are Wendy’s full remarks.

OK, girl. If you insist.
