A Raw Vegan YouTuber Got Caught Eating Fish And Is Sorry

Vegans do not fuck around. Much like Santa Claus, they know when you are sleeping, they know when you’re awake, they know when you’ve been bad or good, and they know when you’ve eaten MEAT, you heathen bitch! Earlier this month, they dragged Ariana Grande because her allegedly-vegan Starbucks beverage was definitely not vegan. PETA drags everyone from feminists who eat eggs, to people who use English phrases about killing birds with stones. They don’t play around. Which is why it’s crazy that raw vegan YouTuber (why did I get an education?) Yovana Mendoza Ayres, known as Rawvana who has over 450,000 subscribers, thought she could get away with pretending to be a raw vegan and then going out and eating–GASP–fish.

Delish is reporting that Yovana got caught with her hand in the cookie jar except the cookie jar was some delicious fried cod.

And like all YouTube people who get caught doing things, she had to apologize. Yovana hopped on her channel and gave a lengthy (this thing comes in at a whopping 33 minutes, like really…?) apology video. In the video she explains to her angry vegan followers that she had to eat the fish, okay? Her story goes that her doctors “insisted” she start incorporating eggs and fish back into her diet because she stopped getting her period for two-ish years, ended up being pre-menopausal, and also developed SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth).

“I’m really, really sorry about the way the news was communicated to you, how you had to find out… I know that so many of you, you trust me, you listen to me, and you probably feel deceived and lied to, and you’re in your whole right to feel that. And for that I ask forgiveness, I’m human… I’m still figuring it out… I wasn’t going to sit in front of the camera and tell you, ‘Oh, I’ve been eating eggs and fish for the past two months and everything is better, everything is good, and the plant-based diet doesn’t work.'”

NolongerRawvana does plan on returning to a fully plant-based diet if and when it becomes healthy to.

Vegans and non-vegans alike joined forces to rage in her comments section like it was a political debate in a heated election year. Here are some of the drags:

“This video screams I got caught, so I have to make this.”

“You are disgusting! I was a big fan! But you’re insane! None of the excuses make sense.”

“LOL there is nothing wrong eating whatever… the problem is the fraud, the deception, the fake news, the alternative facts… the LIES !!! You are morally bankrupt.”

“She not only lied, but she’s literally selling a diet that is harming her own body. That’s surreal.”

“I wasn’t sure if the apology was genuine or not, but when I saw six ads it convinced me.”

Poor Yovana. Now she’ll have to grift somebody else. The vegans don’t forget, honey. And poor people who are shocked to learn that an “influencer” pushed a fake narrative for followers and money and didn’t come clean until they were caught.  Who’s going to tell those surprise people that water is wet too?

Here’s her apology:
