Olivia Jade Was On The Yacht Of A Top USC Official When Her Parents Were Indicted
Olivia Jade was yachting in the Bahamas on her friend’s dad’s boat when her mom and dad were indicted and had to cut her trip short. Her friend’s dad also happens to be the Chairman of USC’s Board of Trustees, billionaire real estate developer Rick Caruso. Whenever people talk about bad optics, this is what they mean. According to TMZ, Olivia was actually on Spring Break so presumably wasn’t missing her 9:00 AM Citizenship in A Diverse World course (a GE requirement at USC) or anything. But maybe she can get some work study credits for this experience anyway.
According to TMZ:
Caruso, a billionaire who has major real estate holdings including The Grove in L.A., tells TMZ, “My daughter and a group of students left for spring break prior to the government’s announcement yesterday. Once we became aware of the investigation, the young woman decided it would be in her best interests to return home.” Olivia is off the yacht.
As we know, Olivia Jade is the daughter of Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli who were both indicted for their participation in a college bribery scam called Operation Varsity Blues. In the film Varsity Blues, James Van Der Beek is surprised by a woman wearing a whipped cream bikini. Amusingly, Olivia’s friend Gigi Caruso, upon who’s daddy’s boat she was on, owns her own bikini line!

Obviously, Gigi is also a USC student. Looks like she has the same dorm set-up as Olivia.
I’m sure it was a nail biter. Incidentally, if you want to get your hearing checked, try the USC Caruso Department of Otolaryngology. Gigi also appears to be in a sorority. Where does she find the time?!
I wonder if Gigi is taking Race and Class in Los Angeles to fulfill her citizenship requirement. Gigi’s dad issued a statement about the bribery scandal.
The charges filed today against employees of USC are disturbing and the alleged activity is absolutely wrong. I am saddened that these people would abuse their positions of trust and, as the government has alleged, victimize USC in the process. There is no option other than zero tolerance for this type of behavior. As a result, USC has fired the alleged wrongdoers.
TMZ says the decision of whether or not to expel the Varsity Blues students is up to the university’s President, not the board. So Olivia won’t have to cuss Rick out under her breath if they decide she can stay. It’s out of his hands.
