Beyoncé and Jay-Z Scooped Up A Brit Award And Gave A Nod To Duchess Meghan

I assumed the only thing Beyoncé and Jay-Z curtsied to was cold hard cash (and maybe whatever VH1 Behind The Music producer was able to give a catty “Where are they now?!” segment to Farrah Franklin), but at this year’s Brit Awards, they showed they have a soft spot in their hearts for Duchess Meghan, probably because they want her ass to be in one of those perfume ad-esque videos they play at an upcoming On The Run tour.

People says Bey and Jay got the award for Best International Group, a real blow to whoever it is that sings “Baby shark doo doo doo doo doo…” Those two would never sully themselves with a night in an arena with British celebrities, so they accepted their award via satellite:

The whole thing was meant to remind you how Bey and Jay filmed the music video for “Apeshit” in the Louvre and are why people even bother going to visit it these days (only kidding – kinda). ‘Yoncé did most of the talking and said, “Thank you so much to the Brit awards for this incredible honor. You guys have always been so supportive. Everything is love. Thank you.” Jay-Z made it about him by joking out a “you’re welcome.” I initially just thought they were showing their support for Meghan while their other friend, Serena Williams, footed the bill on her NYC baby shower. Alas, Bey cleared it all up by saying it was due to Black History Month:

Meghan herself is mixed-race, as her mother, Doria Ragland, is black and her father, Thomas Markle, is a purebred pain in the ass. I’m sure British tabloids will find some way to write a story about how even this ruins the British monarchy, but IDGAF. I’m too busy over here still laughing at Beyoncé trying to convince us that #poormichelle is her best friend.
