Open Post: Hosted By Mascot Batman Catching A Bat

Bats regularly attack basketball games? Did you know that? Just one more reason to avoid any sort of sportsball. Today is Puppy Bowl Sunday (and Super Bowl Sunday too, I guess), but this is a basketball story and it involves flying rodents and someone in a furry costume so that sounds about right.

CBS SportsĀ reported on the mascot for the San Antonio Spurs who slid down the pole in the Batcave, got suited up and went after a bat on the court while dressed as Batman.

Just a few minutes into the game, a bat started flying around the court near the players, most of whom wanted nothing to do with it. Rudy Gay ran away, LaMarcus Aldridge threw the basketball at it and many players on the bench tossed towels. Then, Batman came running in to save the day.

Yes, the Spurs Coyote caught that bat in his Bat-Net! Damn, think of the agility you need to pull that off in a mascot costume. This one gal was particularly pleased.

Bats can be vampires and suck blood, or they can give you rabies, and they can also get tangled in your long hair so Coyote Batman might have had a shot with this gal after the game. Speaking for myself, I’m with Rudy Gay and would have run the eff away.
