When Bohemian Rhapsody won a slew of awards at the Golden Globes on Sunday, most everyone was shocked – including the Hollywood Foreign Press Association based on where they made Rami Malek & Co. sit in that room! Anyway, Rami had already scooped the award for Best Actor in a Drama and was back stage when the whole movie won for Best Picture. Nicole Kidman was the presenter, and when Rami joined the rest of the movie team on stage, he went to say “hai, gurl” to Nic. Alas, she was about as warm to him as she likely would be if Leah Remini and an A&E film crew showed up at her front door. Rami now says he wasn’t mad about it in the least and they “have something planned.” Did anyone really care that much?
Entertainment Tonight caught up with Rami at an event on Wednesday and asked him why he made Nicole seem, uh, well, even more frigid. Rami says they know each other and that he finds the whole bit of Nicole not seeming to know where he was high-larious:
“She’s been a friend for a long time, and that’s why the whole thing I find absolutely ridiculous and hilarious. But I’m having a laugh about it all.”
I don’t know, Mr. Robot. You and that suave voice of yours seem like you have some vengeful tricks up your sleeve to get back at Nicole shimmying away every time you go to say hi to her delicate Australian self:
As you can see, Nicole seems to turn each time Rami goes to shake her hand, hug her, or even ask her, “WHY IN HELL DID YOU EVER AGREE TO DO BEWITCHED?!” Actually, it sounds like Rami was just looking to talk to a friendly face:
“So the fact that I knew Nicole [was there], I was like, ‘Oh, here’s a bit of safety.’ And then she just didn’t see me.It was as simple as that.”
Have no fear, world. Rami says he still loves and admires Nicole and that she’s so “down to Earth and so cool.” Ha! I’ll believe that when we see Gwyneth Paltrow throw back a six-pack of IPAs along with a large pepperoni pizza! When asked if there was any kind of response to the internet going bonkers over the Nicole snub, Rami replied, “We may or may not have something planned out already.” Ha! Y’all aren’t a cat video, so I don’t think the internet cares that much about a response, Rami. However, if you do, I would like it to be where you play Samantha and Nicole plays Endora from Bewitched since she was, uh, “down to Earth” as much as Nicole.
