My favorite rapper/poet/philosopher of 2016 (and beyond!!!) and former HSOTD CupcakKe usually tweets and posts on Instagram about my three favorite subjects (dick, dick, and dick). She does get serious on Twitter, but last night, she got serious and added ten million layers of scary by tweeting to her 411,000 followers about committing suicide.
21-year-old CupcakKe, whose real name is Elizabeth Eden Harris, tweeted last night that she was about to commit suicide. An hour before that tweet, she told her followers in a tweet to immediately run your ass away from an abusive asshole as soon as they show signs that they’re an abusive asshole. But many, including me, still figured that CupcakKe had been the victim of dirty hackers and I waited for her to get the keys to her Twitter account back and clear everything up. That never happened, and instead, that tweet went up on her Instagram page with a caption that read like a goodbye note to her fans.
CupcakKe was scheduled to perform in the UK this week, but those dates were previously pushed to March. So CupcakKe’s fans assumed she was at home in Chicago and called the police there, but the fact that nobody had her address made it a little difficult for the cops. CupcakKe’s friend, comedian Elijah Daniel, also called Chicago PD and tweeted that police were able to track her down using her cell phone. They did a wellness check which led to CupcakKe being taken to the hospital.
UPDATE: Police not able to give me anymore details other than Elizabeth is OKAY and at the hospital 💜 https://t.co/FVZgFxzn7y

The Chicago PD told BBC’s Radio 1 Newsbeat that she was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation:
“Officers went out a few times to check on Elizabeth. Once they got in touch with her, they took her to hospital – not for her injuries – but for a mental evaluation.”
Social media is a weird thing and it’s still strange to me that the norm is screaming out your darkest feelings and thoughts into a digital universe full of strangers, but if a cry tweet for help leads to CupcakKe getting help, then it did a good thing (for once!). CupcakKe’s music has knocked the black clouds away from me several times and lifted me out of the sads (a gorgeous musical ode to dick and jizz bubbles usually does that), and sometimes the ones who bring us happiness are suffering themselves. So hopefully CupcakKe is getting the help she needs and will be lifted up. And if my line about black clouds and dick songs made you picture a giant, thick dick swatting away a black cloud, then you’ve met my go-to meditation visual.
