Open Post: Hosted By Miss Congo Getting Crowned With Literal Fire After Winning The Miss Africa Pageant

A true Queen laughs in the face of adversity. She will not be brought low by petty people, small minds, and certainly not by the elements. One such queen is the newly crowned Miss Africa whose entire head was engulfed in flames. Miss Congo, Dorcas Kasinde, was onstage having just been announced the winner of the Miss Africa beauty pagent when the accompanying fireworks lit her afro wig ablaze like a kerosene soaked q-tip. Thankfully her hair was extinguished before she was hurt. Unscathed and unbothered, she went back onstage to receive her crown, probably smelling like a sunk that got run over by a semi truck. I’m telling you this now so you know it’s OK if you need to laugh.

Here’s Miss Africa nee Miss Congo simultaneously channeling both Diana Ross and Michael Jackson.

I can’t tell if sis in the green is the kind of friend you want in an emergency, or the worst kind of friend to have in an emergency. If my hair is all the way on fire, I do want you to stay calm and get help.  But I’m not sure politely waving for somebody with large palms to mosey on over and pat me out is the way I want you to go about it.

Here’s another angle. Miss Congo barely missed a beat before throwing up them prayer hands and sashaying herself down the rest of that runway. That’s a true Queen right there.

She even went on to record a thank you message to her fans. Her hair may be ruined but she’s Miss Africa, who are you?
