Jackie Chan’s Estranged, Formally Homeless Daughter Married Her Girlfriend
In case you were wondering the answer is yes, ghosts can get married too. For proof, look no further than Etta Ng and Andi Autumn. Etta, Jackie Chan’s estranged daughter, and Andi, her pastel anime manic pixie dream older women, posted their Toronto nuptials live on the internet. Now they’ve shared their wedding with the world via Instagram.
Here’s the spectral couple at their haunted insane asylum ceremony:
Etta and Andi made headlines last year when the pair posted a video online reporting that they had been homeless “due to homophobic parents” and had “pretty much slept under bridge”. The video earned some side-eye because it was a little creepy, with 18 year-old Etta introducing herself as Jackie Chan’s daughter and reading from a script, and 30-year-old Andi coming off as the instigator. The goal of the video was unclear, but they wanted people to share it widely to show how the world hates true love? I guess? It was, well it was a lot. But now they’ve taken all that sympathy and attention they craved, and turned it into art!
But hey, so what if they’re extra. Young people often read Freud for the first time and overexcited (although Andi’s a little long in the tooth for such things). Their message of love and inclusion is beautiful, if confusing.
Etta and Andi have since returned to Hong Kong and look forward to pushing the boundaries of pastel filters together forever.
