Devin Lima From LFO Has Died At The Age Of 41

My late-90s self and my current day self are hugging each other while humming the melody to Girl On TV, because this is now a world where only one member of LFO is living. TMZ says that Devin Lima died early this morning after the shit-encrusted Satanic demon known as cancer took him at the way, way, way too young age of 41.

Last year, LFO was planning a tour, but those plans were canceled after Devin had to go through surgery to remove a football-sized tumor on his adrenal gland. The tumor ended up being cancerous and he was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal cancer. LFO’s Brad Fischetti had been posting about Devin’s fight on Instagram, and the last new picture of them was posted last November.

LFO (formal name: Lyte Funkie Ones) was born in 1995 in Massachusetts. It was originally made up of Rich Cronin, Brad Fischetti, and Brian Gillis. Brian made the BIGGEST MISTAKE OF HIS LIFE by quitting LFO early on because he didn’t think the group was going to go anywhere. Well, after Devin Lima and his flawless eyebrow situation and perfect 90s-boy band mane joined LFO, they went straight to the stars! They got a record deal and recorded a demo for Summer Girls, the song that knocked the cross charm off of everyone’s Charlotte Russe velvet choker and had us rapping lines of pure pop culture poetry like: Chinese food makes me sick and I like Kevin Bacon but I hate Footloose.

Summer Girls hit #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1999. My personal favorite LFO song Girl On TV (aka The Scooby Snacks Song) hit #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 that same year. LFO’s self-titled debut album sold 2.5 million copies worldwide. Their second and last studio album, Life Is Good, was released in 2001. They broke up a year later in 2002. Brad, Devin, and Rich reunited for a minute in 2009. In 2005, Rich Cronin was diagnosed with leukemia. He died in 2010 at 35.

Brad and Devin reunited as a duo in 2017 and put out a song called Perfect 10.

Brad is now the only living member of LFO. Who knows if he will continue on by himself (in between live-tweeting from outside abortion clinics), retire the group for good, or add new members. If he does add new members, they won’t be my LFO.

Summer Girls and Girl On TV are what LFO are known for, but here’s them busting out one of my other favorites, West Side Story, on Rosie back in the day. My guess is that the real reason One Direction broke up is because they watched this video and accurately realized that they could never boy band like this:

Rest in peace, Devin Lima.
