Cardi B Will Judge Wannabe Cardi Bs On A Hip-Hop Competition Show

Variety is reporting that Cardi B, Chance the Rapper and T.I. have landed themselves gigs on a new Netflix hip-hop music competition show called Rhythm + Flow. The show has been in development for over a year over at the biggest Wing Man of the new century (Netflix & Chill Generation) but finally got the green light after nabbing those judges. Cardi B getting paid to judge people? Nicki Minaj is going to be furious on her radio show. “You think Harriet Tubman judged other women???!!!” *Gunshot**Gunshot**Police siren*

Insiders tell Variety that Cardi had been talking with Netflix for quite some time about getting on the show to give them her comments rather than waste them in 9 minute-long Instagram videos whenever she got angry. Cardi is super excited about it, already posting on her Instagram:

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES ????

Chance also shared the excitement over on Insta:

And so did T.I.:

Not sure what the rest of these guys are getting for the series, but insiders say that Cardi is getting a seven-figure check for her appearance in the 10 episodes.

There are going to be some other big names attached to this series as well. John Legend, who just got his EGOT, will be executive producing alongside Mike Jackson (not that one) and Ty Stiklorius through the Get Lifted Film Company. A host has yet to be announced but if Cardi B is going to be giving colorful commentary throughout her judging duties they’re going to need someone who can keep up with her, okurrrrrr?

The show will launch next fall and is described as “a classic, flashy competition series” but will focus specifically on hip-hop music. It’s part of Netflix’s continuation into the world of unscripted programming. They’ve been doing a bunch of that lately with shows like Ultimate Beastmaster, the Queer Eye reboot and Making a Murderer.

If you think you’re the next big hip-hop star, auditions begin sometime this fall, but you better be good. If Cardi B is judging then this competition is already starting at an 11. You thought Simon Cowell was a tough persona to please? Wait til Cardi B throws her shoe at a contestant.
