Ivanka And Melania Trump Are Reportedly Fighting
According to multiple sources, Donald Trump’s favorite daughter and his third wife aren’t getting along. It’s the battle of Complicit Barbie vs The Be Best Brunette, aka Ivanka Trump vs. Melania Trump. And their drama apparently stems from who was going to get to take a trip to Africa first.
Last month, Melania Trump took a solo FLOTUS trip to Africa, the purpose of which I believe was to appear as clueless and out of touch as possible. But the awkwardness happened well before she stepped off the plane. According to The New York Times, Melania’s people presented the idea of the Africa trip months before she was scheduled to leave during a staff meeting. Staff for Ivanka sent a message back to Melania’s people, informing them that Ivanka was planning her own trip, but that she just hadn’t announced it yet. Oooh, I bet hoop earrings are her thing too.
Melania still went to Africa, despite Ivanka’s note about how she was planning it first. The Times says that Ivanka, her robot husband Jared Kushner, and Senator Lindsey Graham will soon go to Africa on their own trip, which will be a much cooler and better trip than Melania’s! Sometime in January, Ivanka and Co. will head to Africa to showcase her interest in economic empowerment.
The NYT’s source claims that Ivanka and Melania really don’t ever talk to each other, describing their dynamic as “complicated” and adding that their duties rarely overlap. A 2017 Vanity Fair profile described their relationship simply as “fine.” Meanwhile, The Cut claims that Chief of Staff John Kelly has to mediate between the two. Like he did recently when both Ivanka and Melania tried to use a black child as a prop in a photo op. While Melania was visiting Ghana last month, she held a baby in Accra, and a video of the moment was posted to the FLOTUS Instagram account.
Two days later, Ivanka posted a video of herself holding and high-fiving a little girl in North Carolina.
That was enough to have Melania and Ivanka at each other’s throats. Sources tell The Cut that John Kelly had to step in and calm everyone down, and reassure them both that everyone was allowed to post a video of themselves holding a black child. Of all the stupid things to fight over. If those dummies want to fight over something, fight over who will feature Tiffany Trump in a video. I’m sure she’d appreciate the attention.
