Tyler, The Creator Totaled His Tesla Model X After Falling Asleep At The Wheel

Tyler, The Creator claims he stayed out past his bedtime and fell asleep behind the wheel of his Tesla Model X and plowed into a parked car while on his way home from a recording session. Both Tyler’s Tesla and the other car were totaled but, according to TMZ, everybody is fine. Tyler was unhurt and the owner of the other car is stoked his property was involved in a celebrity collision.

TMZ reports:

The scary incident went down just after early Thursday morning near UCLA’s campus. Cops say the crash was so powerful, the parked Honda CR-V was reportedly flung some 50 feet away. LAPD and LA Fire responded to the scene and miraculously reported no injuries.

I guess if you’re going to wake up to find that your car has been totaled in the night while it was parked, the best news you can hear is that it was done by a famous person. Here’s the owner of the CRV looking like it’s his birthday, Christmas, and Mega Millions Monday all wrapped into one.

The Blast reports:

Sources on scene of the accident tell The Blast Tyler seemed composed as police arrived on scene, and he quickly walked away as cameras began to notice the accident involved a celebrity. It’s unclear if a sobriety test was performed on the celebrity.

The police left a report on the Honda and Tyler went on home unscathed. Here’s what Tyler had to say for himself about the accident via Instagram Story:

How the fuck you gonna fall asleep driving a stick-shift (I’m assuming, if not, why even bother owning a car like that) down Sunset Blvd in the middle of the night? That car looks harder to operate than one one of those Pacific Rim Job robots. Plus, I thought your boi Elon put self-driving functions into those bad boys along with the “excessive airbags“. But one thing that isn’t a car crash (and it could’ve been) is Tyler’s cover of You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch for the new Grinch movie.
