Sarah Michelle Gellar And David Boreanaz Are For The “Buffy Reboot”

October 5, 2018 / Posted by:

The original Miss Buffy Summers herself (technically the original TV Buffy Summers) Sarah Michelle Gellar is coming out in favor of the new Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot which is being produced by original Buffy creator (he actually did the movie too) Joss Whedon.

After it was announced back in July that Buffy would be getting the reboot-treatment, the Buffyverse (the fans of the show, God, can’t we just be called “fans” anymore? The gays have enough identifying labels for me to deal with) was in an uproar. Usually when things get remade they stink to high-Hell, and they did not want the same here. And also probably a bit-o-racism because, you know, the new Buffy is going to be black.

The new showrunner of the Buffy reboot, Monica Owusu-Breen, released a statement last July in an attempt to quell the Buffyverse’s rage:

Sarah, who played Buffy for seven years, is on Monica’s team and is all for the reboot. She spoke with People all about how Pro-Reboot she is:

“At the end of the day, it’s all about great storytelling. If a story lives on, then I think it should be told in any incarnation it can be told in.”

Also on board for the reboot is the original Angel, Buffy’s vampire lover who got his own spin-off midway through the series. David Boreanaz spoke with fans at New York Comic-Con and tried to get them to come on board with the show after they booed it:

“Come on, guys. It’s a good thing. Let’s just embrace [it]. I’m very happy for them. They want to embrace a new generation, something new. … I’m all for it. I think it’s fantastic. Good for them. I hope that it becomes huge and successful.”

And Sarah agrees: “I’m with David,” she told People.

We need to listen to Sarah on this one guys. Firstly, I can never get enough Buffy so there’s that, but for real Sarah Michelle Gellar is the most trustworthy celebrity. She is 41-years-old and still looks 20. That means she stays in her lane, because evil people always age. And her and original 90s heartthrob, Freddie Prinze Jr. are the only celebrity couple who has not broken up! Eternal youth and a rock-solid marriage? If that don’t say she has common sense, what does?
