Megyn Kelly Regrets Bringing Jane Fonda On “Megyn Kelly Today”
It’s been a whole year since Jane Fonda finished Megyn Kelly with a single look. It feels like just yesterday when Megyn asked Jane about plastic surgery during an interview on Megyn Kelly Today, and Jane returned with what would be a “Fuck no” face for the ages. Jane later brought it up in the shadiest way possible: during an interview when she returned to Today three months later.
Megyn is now saying she regrets the moment, specifically she regrets booking Jane Fonda on the show in the first place.
UsWeekly recently spoke to Megyn about her first year as host of her show and she said this about her biggest regret:
“I certainly wish I hadn’t put on Jane Fonda. That didn’t go well!”
Any reasonable person that was offered a magical do-over might choose to Jane Fonda about anything besides her plastic surgery, but not Megyn. She says she wouldn’t have done anything differently. She believes the only reason Jane didn’t want to answer the question is because Megyn Kelly is from Fox News.
“She answered that question in about 40 different forums. It was nothing wrong with me. And she’s answered it in 40 more forums since! I think the issue was somebody who used to work at Fox News was asking it of her that particular day. There’s nothing I can do about that. I know some people don’t like Fox News, and some people don’t like me and that’s OK.”
Megyn’s not wrong. Jane has spoken about her surgeries in the past, most recently to People magazine. Megyn believes Jane was being a big ol’ bully by continuing to publicly pick on her.
“I let her beat up on me repeatedly. She went out there and ripped on me. It’s fine. You have to take your licks as a reporter, as an anchor. And she did it again, and she did it again, and she did it again and I didn’t say anything.”
The only problem is…Megyn did say something about it. After Jane made a crack about Megyn to Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford on Today back in January, Megyn addressed the situation a week later on Megyn Kelly Today. Megyn dragged “Hanoi Jane” Fonda and played clips of Jane talking about her surgeries. But maybe Megyn doesn’t remember that, because she doesn’t watch her own show after she tapes it. It’s ok Megyn, we get it – there’s a lot of people out there who don’t watch it either.
