That tricky bitch Mary Poppins is back to terrorize a new pack of impish waifs in the full length trailer for Mary Poppins Returns starring Emily Blunt as an umbrella wielding lunatic and Lin-Manuel Miranda as a guy who doesn’t think twice about playing with strange children in the park. This holiday season is going to be seriously twisted.
Here’s the trailer for the follow up to the 1964’s classic starring JULIE ANDREWS! (I can’t not yell it ever since my mom let me watch the original Bedazzled):
Dick van Dyke’s looking very spry, I must say! Is it weird to have a crush on a nonagenarian? Apparently he’s playing the son of as a secondary character, Mr. Daws Sr, whom he had to wear old age makeup to play back in 1964.

I don’t remember that but I do know he is giving me Anthony Varrecchia realness.
According to Screen Rant, the movie is set 24 years after the events of The OG Poppins. The Banks kids, Jane and Michael, are all grown up and played by Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaw. Like their parents, one is now a banker, and the other is a “social activist“. Michael has some kids of his own and when their mother dies, in pops Poppins, throwing shade left and right with that giant umbrella of hers. JULIE ANDREWS! declined to appear in the movie but only because she didn’t want to hone in on Emily’s big moment. Additional players are:
Other Mary Poppins Returns cast members include Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack the lamp-lighter, Meryl Streep as Mary’s cousin Topsy Turvy, Angela Lansbury as Mary’s pal the Balloon Woman and Colin Firth as Michael’s penny-pinching boss, William Weatherall Wilkins.
If Colin Firth is going to be pinching something, then I’m absolutely getting my Poppins on this holiday season!
