Eminem Is Sorry For Calling Tyler The Creator The F-Word On His New Album

Although to be fair, it’s also probably the same word Tyler, the Creator might hiss at someone too.

Eminem recently sat down with Sway (via Vulture) to talk about his latest album, Kamikaze. In one track titled “Fall,” Eminem – a man with a permanent shit list folded up in his pocket – takes aim at Tyler, the Creator, and uses the f-word. Eminem is now sorry about it.

In 2014, Tyler gave a little review of Eminem’s compilation album, Shady XV. He clearly didn’t like it very much, writing:

“I love you Marshall, you are my favorite rapper, but dude ShadyXV is fucking ASS. Hahaha, why won’t someone who loves him tell him NO.”

Eminem clearly has no time limit on how long he can hold a grudge, because four years later, he took a swipe at Tyler. Lats year Tyler implied he was tip-toeing out of the rap closet on his album Scum Fuck Flower Boy. Around the 2:45 mark, Eminem raps the following:

Tyler create nothin’, I see why you called yourself a f—–, bitch
It’s not just ’cause you lack attention
It’s because you worship D12’s balls, you’re sack-religious
If you’re gonna critique me
You better at least be as good or better

You can listen to it here, if you’re still having trouble trying to figure out if Eminem is calling him a “fun guy.

The word has been somewhat edited out. Eminem explains to Sway that he “was angry” when he said said what he said about Tyler. And that despite his doesn’t-give-a-fuck persona, he will “fire back” when someone comes for him. So he fired back. And then he admits that he regretted pulling the trigger, because he realized his word choice might hurt others.

“I think the word that I called him on that song was one of the things where I felt like this might be too far. Because in my quest to hurt him, I realize that I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it…It was one of the things that I kept going back to [on the album], going ‘I don’t feel right with this.”

Sway would only say that he hopes Eminem and Tyler can sit down and talk it out, because he believes Tyler is “a special young man.

When Eminem first started out, he was accused of being homophobic, thanks to lyrics like (really, just go back to the late 90s/early 2000s and take your pick). But then Elton John jumped to his defense and performed “Stan” at the 2001 Grammy. Elton John confessed that a few years later, his friend Eminem gave him a set of diamond-encrusted cock rings, an act Elton says shows you “how homophobic he isn’t.” If that single act proves Eminem isn’t homophobic, then Tyler should think about sticking around his house between the hours of 9 and 5. I’ve got a feeling there’s a diamond delivery from Detroit sometime in his future.
