Nicki Minaj Has Yet To Come Through With That Check She Was Going To Send To Geoffrey Owens

Nicki Minaj has a lot (of rice) on her plate at the moment so you might forgive her if she’s already forgotten a promise she made less than a week ago to send Geoffrey Owens $25,000 dollars, unsolicited, after the actor was outed as common day job haver. Well, that’s not exactly fair, according to TMZ, Nicki didn’t forget. She just didn’t do it. On her Queen Radio show on Monday, Nicki claims she was having trouble reaching Owens’ team. However, TMZ is suggesting she’s pulling a classic “the check is in the mail” routine.

TMZ reports:

Sources familiar with the situation tell us Minaj and her team have yet to even contact Geoffrey or his people, much less hand over the cash.

I guess Nicki’s too busy dodging shoes and running off at the mouth to have her assistant Google “Who is Geoffrey Owens’ agent” like I just did. According to The Internet (via Nicki stans on Twitter), Nicki asked anyone listening who might know how to reach Geoffrey to contact her so she can send a check. Looks like she’s opting for the more circuitous route. Meanwhile TMZ says “our sources say Geoffrey’s team hasn’t heard a peep, and are easily reachable”. Why can’t people just wait to see if asking some random listener to get a hold of the very busy Nicki Minaj by @ing her on Twitter with a good contact for Geoffrey’s people isn’t actually faster than Nicki just tasking an assistant to just get it done! Her way might be faster, we don’t know!

When you have the attention span of an adderall addicted gerbil, as I suspect might the case with Nicki, putting in enough sustained effort to ask one reliable person in your entourage to get you a fucking phone number, is tantamount to writing a 1000 page critique on the perils of capitalism.

Besides, I’m sure Geoffrey doesn’t want her money. He explicitly said in his Good Morning America interview what he wasn’t into charity and would feel weird about accepting offers of work that didn’t require him to audition. He just wanted to get into the room. TMZ claims that Geoffrey would likely donate the money to charity if and when Nicki’s check actually does arrive. But why can’t people just wait to see if talking about the money on her radio show ad nauseam isn’t actually more effective (at generating publicity) than Nicki just closing the door by making a donation to some charity in Geoffrey’s name? Her way might be better, we don’t know!
