Shauna Sexton Says She’s Not The Reason Why Ben Affleck Is Currently In Rehab
Almost two weeks ago, Ben Affleck checked into rehab for alcohol addiction after his soon-to-be ex-wife Jennifer Garner stage an intervention. That seemed to end whatever he had with 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton. Shauna might have had some nice dates with Ben, but she didn’t have a great time in the press. It was rumored that Ben’s slide back into his bad ways was made worse from him spending time with Shauna. Shauna has recently come forward with her side of things, and she’d like everyone to know she wasn’t the cause of his relapse.
For a few weeks leading up to Ben’s return to rehab, we were told that Jennifer was waiting for Ben to get sober before she agreed to finalize their divorce. It was also rumored that Lindsay Shookus had broken up with Ben due to the distance between them (while other sources claimed Ben dumped Lindsay because she was pressuring him to go to rehab). Then along came Shauna, who was apparently a “whiskey all day” kind of girl. That’s a fun way to kill a day, but it’s maybe not the best personality trait when you’re dating someone with booze issues. Ben was eventually seen receiving an alcohol delivery to his house, which then set in motion his trip to rehab.
Three days after Ben went to rehab, Shauna posted the following picture to Instagram.
People says that after some comments were made about how it might be just a tad tacky to pose with wine so soon after Ben went to rehab, Shauna piped up and explained that she never drank around or with him, even though she “loves to drink and party” like “most 22-year-olds do.” Shauna also addressed that she had been arrested twice for underage drinking, but that that had nothing to do with Ben’s current situation.
“Do these mistakes mean I would disrespect someone’s hard-earned sobriety by drinking with them or in front of them? Hell no. I have limitless respect for those who take action and actually do something about it. With that being said, Ben is a grown ass man, baby. He makes his own decisions. Blaming a 22-year-old for someone’s 3rd time in rehab is just ridiculous. He is human. I am human.”
Who knows if Shauna is telling the truth about whether she drank around Ben or not, but she probably wasn’t the best sober companion for him. It’s right there when she says most 22-year-olds love to drink and party. How can you keep someone on the straight and narrow of sobriety when you feel awkward drinking from anything that isn’t a red Solo cup.
