Mel B Still Says She Is Not A “Raging Alcoholic” Or Sex Addict
Mel B is back to assure you that she is still not an alcoholic or sex addict, but she brought proof this time.
According to TMZ Mel B has been having a rough time with it. Her ex, Stephen Belafonte, has been trying to get more custody of the kids. He made some declarations to the court and they were not nice. One man, Russell Updegraff, who was apparently responsible for watching the kids, Madison and Angel, had a lot to declare about Mel B. Mostly that she’s a mess.
Russell accused Mel of drinking morning, noon, and night, and said that when she finally passes out, she wakes up and is “mean and belligerent.” Russell also made gross claims, saying that Mel is abusive to the kids and scares and stresses them out. And he really made a gross claim when he said that Mel B is always bringing home random men and one of them tried to get Madison to take a shower with him, and since Mel is an out of touch drunk, he had to intervene.
Welp, Mel B had some thoughts on these charges. She too went to her lawyer’s office, screamed for half an hour, and then came up with a document of her own. In it, she says that Mr. Updegraff is UpdeStephensAss and is telling lies on her. Mel says he’s just an ex-employee and is out to get her. According to Mel, Russell and Stephen are on a mission to ruin her reputation. Mel is willing to submit to random drug testing and is calling out Stephen to do the same.Mel also reminded the court that she is suffering from PTSD from Stephen’s abuse.
In addition to all of that, she agreed to undergoing a child custody evaluation with psychological testing, because she really, really, really doesn’t want Stephen to get full custody of those kids. She also wants to make clear that:
“She’s not a sex addict who brings home random men, she is not a raging alcoholic as Stephen paints her to be, she does not take illicit drugs … and her children’s well-being is her top priority.”
Oh and for her proof of character, she points to her housekeeper Anthony Santa Maria. He says he’s never seen Mel drunk “or even buzzed” and that he has never seen her do anything dangerous or neglectful.
TMZ says that Mel and Stephen met in the judge’s chambers on Friday, and reached a settlement of which the details are being kept confidential.
This is tragic but I have to say I believe Mel B. Not just because the Spice Girls are an iconic band who would never lie to us (except about their fucking reunions), but because this girl literally said she would willingly submit to drug tests. Only people who know their blood is pure ever ask to be drug tested. …Or maybe she has a guaranteed source of clean blood and urine?
Methinks this isn’t the end of this tall tale since these two have reached settlements in the past. I’m sure Mel is just waiting for when Stephen tries to fuck with her next. Mel B will probably have as many divorce hearings as she does Spice Girls comebacks. So we’re in for a few.
