David Beckham Skipped The Family’s Official British Vogue Cover

Somewhere Ralph Lauren is wondering when he approved a fall campaign starring Posh Spice and her children. Fear not Ralph, for that never happened. This is Victoria Beckham and her children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, with their dog Olive on the cover of the October issue of British Vogue. But someone is missing. Where’s David Beckham?! Well good news for David Beckham fans: his face made it onto a cover, just not this main one.

Earlier this summer it was reported that David wasn’t so crazy about Victoria pushing their kids on Vogue’s cover, but that he eventually agreed to join in. Just not on the main cover, apparently. Subscribers, however, will see David and Victoria once again oozing minimal contact realness on their cover (with a special guest appearance by Harper on a swing).

David also appears inside the magazine with his kids in what appears to be a united front to keep those divorce rumors at bay. Or maybe it’s just Victoria’s attempt at looking like a normal, not-insanely-rich family. Sadly, I can still hear Victoria’s inner monologue. “I swear, if I find out you filled those water guns up with dirty hose water and not Evian and you spray me, you’re all flying commercial for the next month.

Speaking of those pesky divorce rumors, Victoria addressed them by telling Vogue (via People) that their marriage has suffered through “nonsense” for about 20 years, and that they’re stronger together:

“We both realize that we are stronger together than we are as individuals. Would either of us be in the position that we are in now had we not met and been together all those years ago? It’s all about the family unit. We are much stronger the six of us, than we would be if we were individuals. We respect that family bond and that is key.”

The Beckhams’ appearance in British Vogue wasn’t just to confirm their strength as a unit. They also honored Victoria for the 10-year anniversary of her clothing line, Victoria Beckham, and its first time showing at London Fashion Week after ten years at NYFW. Victoria filmed a video for British Vogue in which she jokingly shows up to set in some of her old clothes, like her 1999 wedding gown and what appears to be a little Gucci dress from her Posh days. Oh no, don’t give Mel B any ideas! She’s bound to see that Victoria still has her Spice Girls wardrobe and offer to hook her up with a garment moving company that specializes in world tours.
