Demi Lovato Has Spoken For The First Time Since Her Apparent Overdose

During the two weeks since Demi Lovato went to the hospital with a suspected drug overdose, many random sources have piped up with their thoughts and theories about what happened. Finally, Demi has spoken for herself. She posted a statement to Instagram thanking everyone who has helped her over these past two weeks.

In Demi’s statement that she posted yesterday, she acknowledges her ongoing fight against addiction, and that her sober journey is an ongoing one. She also thanks God, her fans, her family, her team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai for getting her through it all. What, no shout out to her personal part-time candy striper, Wilmer Valderrama? You might think she’s grouping him in with the staff of Cedars, since he shares about 90% of his DNA with the douche bottles in the nurse’s supply closet. But no, she probably considers him part of her family.

That road to recovery was rumored to include a car ride to a rehab center, after it was reported that Demi had allegedly agreed to seek treatment after she was discharged from the hospital. As it turns out, Demi’s statement didn’t come from the comfort of her up-and-down motorized hospital bed, but another location entirely. According to E! News, Demi left the hospital on Saturday, and flew to a rehab facility and will be there for an “extended” stay. TMZ says Demi checked into one of the country’s “leading facilities” for addiction. Well, it looks like we can confidently eliminate the possibility that she’s staying at one of Dr. Phil’s dubious rehab centers. Then again, we could probably have always scratched that one off the list. Demi has made some poor choices, but she’s not that reckless.
