Beyoncé Might Be On The Cover Of Anna Wintour’s Last Vogue Issue

There’s been rumors for the past couple of months that Anna Wintour’s time as editor-in-chief of Vogue and artistic director of Condé Nast have an expiriation date. It would make sense to me if Anna’s farewell issue featured herself on the cover. But since an emotionless face, cold eyes, and wig-like hair is really more on brand for Department Store Mannequin Monthly, the star of the September issue is reportedly going to be Beyoncé.

Sources tells Page Six that Beyoncé will be on the cover of Vogue this September for the second time (she was on 2015’s cover). Hopefully this time a kind soul on set gives her stylist access to a hair dryer before the photographer starts snapping pictures. Beyoncé has also appeared on the cover of Vogue for the April 2009 and March 2013 issues. Beyoncé’s September issue is reportedly going to be shot by Tyler Mitchell.

Page Six also points out that the rumor persists that Anna will say goodbye to Vogue after Beyoncé’s issue. Sources claim it will be a soft-exit, and there’s talk she might be replaced by British Vogue’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful. However, British Vogue has called the rumor “categorically false,” while Condé Nast has continued to deny Anna will be leaving any time soon.

Beyoncé is an okay choice. To be honest, I’ll take anyone so long as it’s not Anna’s favorite basic Vogue cover girl Blake Lively. And I don’t even care if Beyoncé uses the cover for some kind of stunt, like pushing her tummy out a bit to stir up a new pregnancy rumor for the Beyhive. Just knowing how much this news has no doubt ruined Kanye West’s day is all the petty satisfaction I need today. Choosing his former friend’s wife Beyoncé over his Photoshoppable wife Kim?! Sorry Kanye, but it looks like Anna would like to leave with at least a shred of dignity tucked under her arm.
