You’re at San Diego Comic-Con and you want to accomplish two goals. You want to upstage the rest of the busted 2 million cosplayers attending, AND you want to spice up a super-boring panel discussion about an upcoming film. You must be openly queer actor Ezra Miller, ‘cuz he showed up as Toadette from the Super Mario Bros. universe and bodies were dropping left and right over the hat alone.
According to EW, Ezra was there for the Fantastic Beasts panel (he plays the provocatively-named “Clarence Barebone” in the film series), and Warner Bros obviously asked him to stunt so as to distract from their current policy of defusing the gay in Dumbledore.
Ezra cosplays at Comic-Con every year (he also plays The Flash in the DC Comics Universe). Last year he played Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist, and he came as Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings the year before. He seems really fun and not at all like his character from We Need To Talk About Kevin who did terrible things (SPOILERS) like enjoying his mom walking in on him masturbating and killing everyone with his bow and arrow. (Honestly, it’s gruesome, but a really good movie.)
