Kensington Palace Has Released The Official Portraits From Prince Louis’ Christening

When fifth-in-line to the crown Prince Louis arrived to St. James’s Palace for his Christening last week, his grand entrance wasn’t so grand. I was expecting some razzle-dazzle, like a Kensington Palace-branded t-shirt gun fired by Unky Harry. But all we got was Duchess Kate carrying a bundle of curtains with a sleeping Prince Louis inside, then later, a partially-awake Prince Louis. Obviously Prince Louis was saving the charm for the official portraits released after the show.

But Prince Louis is only the star of a few pictures. The rest have him surrounded by his family, including his future boss Prince George, and the sibling he’ll no doubt spend most of his time gossiping with, Princess Charlotte.

Look at Prince George in his sassy little hand-in-pocket Gap Kids model pose. Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte is just excited to be so close to a dress that wasn’t in a blue cotton floral.

And here’s a picture of the extended family, featuring Duchess Camilla, Prince Charles, Harry and Duchess Meghan. If Thomas Markle was hoping to get some facetime with his daughter, he’s in luck! Well, technically it will be a one-sided conversation with a professionally shot photograph, but at this point in his career as a Royal family squealer, he can’t be too choosy.

Finally, one of everybody, including the Middletons.

Matt Holyoak, the official Christening photographer released a statement about photographing Prince Louis’ big day, saying he was “truly honored” and that he hoped he captured everyone’s “relaxed” attitude and joy. I’m sure it wasn’t all relaxed. I wonder if at some point he was able to capture Duchess Meghan hissing at Harry through clenched teeth, asking why in The Queen’s name he didn’t tell her about the blue and cream dress code.
