Amanda Seyfried Swears She Wasn’t Her Husband’s Side Piece

When Amanda Seyfried got together with her now-husband Thomas Sadowski, it was under the kind of circumstances that usually lead to gossipy types looking up from their glasses, lowering their voices, and declaring “So, you know…“. They met during rehearsals for the off-Broadway play The Way We Get By in 2015. At the time, Amanda was with Justin Long, and Thomas was with his wife of eight years, Kimberly Hope. Amanda and Thomas reunited a year later to film The Last Word, and by then both were single and ready to mingle with each other. They got engaged six months after they went public. The timeline was suspect, but Amanda says it was honest and no one was cheating.

While promoting Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, in an interview with Net-A-Porter magazine, Amanda said her relationship with Thomas during the run of The Way We Get By was at the very least professional, and at the most, professionally friendly. They didn’t even flirt, and their respective relationships were bound to fail, anyway.

“We were both in bad relationships.” They were friends at first. When she’d have panic attacks on stage, he’d help her through. But nothing happened. Sadoski “never flirted, never disrespected his wife. That was another reason why I thought, later on, that I could marry him.”

When Amanda discovered that Thomas’ marriage bit the dust, she suggested he play her love interest in The Last Word, and it wasn’t long before they were hooking up.

“It was amazing. It felt healthy and freeing and clean. We can tell the story without any guilt.”

She adds that she would love to have more kids with Thomas (she already has a one-year-old daughter), saying “I definitely want more babies. Maybe three? Or four? Or five?

Despite Hollywood on-set hookups being about as common as going on a filtered air diet before awards season, I doubt Amanda would ever admit if she and Thomas were cheating. So we just have to believe Cupid hit them with arrows long after they finished their play. And that’s fine. But it’s a bit of a shame, because just think of the theater-themed flirting they could have done. “Hey, you wanna come to my dressing room with your script and rehearse the rising action leading into the climax?

Here’s Amanda – in a pair of pants that looks like she just came from a Mr. Furley wardrobe auction – at the photo call for Mama Mia! here We Go Again in Hamburg, Germany yesterday.
